It was too humid inside, only with the air-con on all night the towels and other stuff got dry.

Pros: Price
Cons: Bed and pillow quality, room service could be included
Location: Not next to any beach, but is relatively close to Jetty station and a few free shops, if your intention is to go shopping.
Amaras Motel is a simple but enough comfortable hotel. There are a few options of restaurants, markets, free shops and laundry nearby. Room is not the best but is ok for the price. No windows, no room service. Quiet, good shower and enough space. Is a good value if you are in a budget.

Room service only show up when requested, only clean toilet and floor, did not clean and make up bed
Instant water heater broke down, electrical fault even though pressed reset button repeatedly
Sound Proofing close to nothing

So poor that you must not stay
Posted 14 Jan 2016 on HotelsFirst thing i saw in toilet was a big cockroach,they reluctant to change room for me saying all rooms are the same and ask me keep quiet about it. My pillow was a bad old cotton pillow, changed another with yellowish spots all over the inner cover and mosquito bloodstain on outer cover, then another one with cigarette smell on it, ended up i cover it with a towel to sleep.
The Bangladeshi staff told me that they do offer mangrove tour so i agreed with the price he said and reminded him a few times to remind him to let the person in charge know that we wanted to go for it. On actual day 1 hour before departure i went to the counter and asked,the manager actually told me through phone call that its not possible to get it with the price told by the staff with no apology at all! So ended up we drove all the way to Tanjung Rhu Jetty by our own and found a cheaper price with the same package through another agent.
Furthermore, this motel is managed by 2 Bangladeshi most of the time, especially at night you can see they actually putting on a mattress at the counter to sleep, means no one knows who entering the main door if they really fall asleep, they dont have accurate information, they cant promise anything, they dont have the knowledge to guide your itinerary,they smoke.
Plus, a lot of mosquitoes,spider webs,another species of cockroach,a gecko fossil,torn towel,dirty curtain,spoiled light,low security which you cant lock from inside,noisy aircond, smelly dirty toilet.

Posted 11 Oct 2015 on HotelsYou need to hire a car to move around, room is large with attached toilet, the room is clean, bed sheet has stained and not very clean, good air con, hot water in the shower, wifi is weak inside the room, towel is not clean, overall reasonably price, near to restaurants and food outlets

Posted 14 Aug 2015 on HotelsThe lady at the information desk wasn't helpful at all. Talking to her is a waste as she will only answer you with nod her head and smile.
Thankfully, the owner of the guesthouse came to entertain us. He was very nice and helpful to us. At least felt our stay is quite good.
