"It is not where it says on the map. I turned up expecting to be in actual Banjul but I was somewhere miles away. They didn't have any rooms even though I was booked in. Took me to another place that was nicer but again, not in the location it said. "

"This is a true gem. The owners were wonderful. They called to check on me and even surprised me with dinner a couple nights (which was amazing). The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked well. I will surely stay there again. The WiFi signal was the best I have ever experienced in The Gambia. I highly recommend it. They told me they are opening a restaurant in December which will be great. "

"Great place close to the river to fully disconnect from the light, dust and noise pollution. Especially at night, it’s so quiet, you get to hear birds, see stars in the sky, man, I got one of my deepest /best sleeps. "We felt very welcomed at Tamala, all the staff were friendly and obliging. Out room was spacious, with a swim up pool and ocean view. We stayed half-board, and although there was a buffet breakfast, for dinner our options were limited to the a menu at the bar, this was possibly due to us visiting in shoulder season, although this wasn't explained and had we know before arrival we may have chosen not go half board. Great hotel, lovely staff.

"The hotel was lovely, rooms are newly refurbished and are clean. Beds are comfy and are made up beautifully each day. The beach is nice and right on the hotel front, the security makes it feel very safe to relax on. The only thing I would say is there is always a lot of sellers from the markets who come up to you on the beach constantly. The food was good, especially the Sunday bbq. The staff are also super friendly and helpful and just want you to have the best possible stay. The management however were not as friendly and seemed to just walk around the resort only saying hello and speaking to people who were “deluxe” guests. The only problem we had was they originally booked us down as B&B when we had paid for all inclusive so we had an embarrassing confrontation with the bar staff when they told us we couldn’t have drinks or lunch !! But this was very quickly rectified luckily."
