This was our first excursion to Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding area. I probably looked at around 20 different hotels/B & B's before deciding on the Lake Opechee Inn and Spa...And I made the right choice...This was the absolute BEST property to stay in the area! Coming from Rhode Island, we were initially a bit disappointed with the area around Laconia but after you head in the direction of Weir's Beach it all become nice indeed. Plus, you're only 48 minutes away from the White Mountains (Flume Gorge etc.). So, the Lake Opechee Inn is ideally strategically located to both tourist areas. We stayed in the deluxe room closest to the lake, and it was both spacious and clean. Some of the upsides included the whirlpool, comfortable bedding, nice chairs, a fireplace, and a deck with a view. The downsides (but not deal killers by any stretch) included no cleaning of our room (we had to get fresh towels etc. from the front desk), a smallish standup shower with no hand-held sprayer, small television (by today's standards), and a subpar breakfast. It's actually a pity that they don't offer a buffet in the adjoining restaurant because I would have happily paid the extra for a hot breakfast with eggs and bacon. Speaking of the restaurant...it's outstanding! The bartender was very helpful, and the food was delicious. Definitely, visit this more upscale restaurant at least one of your nights! Overall, I would definitely recommend the Lake Opechee Inn and Spa (9.5/10).

Nice quant small inn. Rugs in lobby need upgrading. Rooms are diverse themes. Was not aware when booking thru expedia, not asked for desired theme. Received a rustic themed one ( rm 100 with king bed), did not like it. Would have preferred a ocean themed one. Large room with lake facing balcony with 2 chairs and table. , no microwave in room, only supplied one set of towels per person, requested two, and was supplied. Jacuzzi placed in jammed , hard to enter position. No table supplied if was to have coffee or breakfast in the room. No safe in the rooms. Very helpful clerks at front desk. Delicious restaurant on site. Pool is a small soaking pool and locked and need to have someone open it and remove cover to use it. Decent continental brkfast. Fresh muffins, juice coffee, toast, bagels, danish and cereal, would have been excellant if provided some fruit also.

This place is very misleading when you book your stay they charge astronomical prices show you beautiful rooms that face the lake with a deck they also advertise an indoor pool and you could probably fit four people in it then they put you in a room that faces the train tracks and a dirt parking lot out back after you paid 350 dollars per night. I would understand if the front rooms were that price. but the room that they put me in wasn’t worth more than $125 a night we ended up leaving Saturday morning and taking the loss of 350 next time, we will do more research and stay elsewhere

Thank you for your comments, I understand that you were disappointed from the start because we had a two-night minimum, and you only wanted to stay for one night. And then more unfortunate is that you were further disappointed because you booked online and did not understand that you were booking a tree view room. This can happen when people are trying to get the best price, they miss that they are not getting the higher end room. We feel confident that our website has clear pictures that show lakeview rooms with balconies and tree view rooms without. Additionally, our written descriptions of each room type explain the tree view rooms have window seats and a view of the trees. This time of year, the trees are lush and green and make a very nice back drop for sitting by the windows. We always recommend calling and talking with us directly, so that we can be aware of your expectations, and needs. Waiting until you arrive during our busy season to ask about a lakeview room, is most often going to result in disappointment. Our lake view rooms are a little more expensive, but still the most popular and typically the first to be booked. Again, disappointing that we were not able to move you to a lakeview when you checked in because they were all booked. I would like to mention that we do not “put” guests in a type of room, guests choose their room type when they book their reservations. As for our pricing, I am sorry that you were looking for something more budget friendly, our pricing is based on costs and in line with the market in our area. Truthfully, there are times when we are a little less expensive because we do not adjust pricing, based on occupancy, we set our pricing at the beginning of the year, and it stays the same all year. As for the pool, again, our website clearly states that our pool is a soaking pool, not a swimming or lap pool. Our property is more focused on relaxation, hence the soaking pool that is 12 ft x 17 ft and has seating on two sides. Again, calling and talking with our representatives, we are happy to clearly explain our amenities, offerings and make sure that our property is what you and your family are looking for. Finally, I would like to say that I am most disappointed to hear that you were so unhappy with our property that you left a day early. I understand you originally only wanted to stay one night, but I also understand that when you told us you were leaving, you said it was because there was nothing to do in the area even after my guest representative spent a good amount of time researching and going over different options with you. So, I want to thank you again for your comments, and apologize that your get a way was not what you were hoping for. In the future, we always recommend talking directly with representatives of the property and doing research on the property and the surrounding area. We hope that you and your family in the future find a property that fits your needs and you can en
