I recently planned a 2 night stay and after the first night I left. The kids running around, screaming, literally sounded like a dance party above my head. Woke up to gum stuck to my car windows and soda cans on the hood.
During the first night I called the front desk twice with no actions taken. Because of my lack of sleep and potential more car damage I checked out a day early.
Absolutely NO refunds, actually absolutely NO response from the manager after emails and phone calls.
The lack of response from the manager is unfortunate because apparently the kids of the hockey tournaments are more important because the money brought it.
I will be canceling an upcoming reservation to this hotel in January…and will never stay again.
Great job Art Devlin…amazing customer service

Hi Erica,I'm sorry you had a less than stellar experience at The Devlin, that is absolutely not the norm. I am glad that the General Manager was able to reach you after his time away. We did want to have him or the guest service manager reach out to you directly, however your stay happened to coincide with some time off, so for that we apologize for the delay in response. We did look into the allegations presented regarding especially any possible things done to your vehicle so we could contact the organization, however after watching the video footage of the day/evening we did not see who did it, or when it would have occurred but I did want to make you aware we take all things like that seriously and had our IT dept download the video footage first thing. Yes, we do have large hockey groups that stay with us but that by no means over shadows our other guests and I am saddened you felt slighted, again not and never our intention. I was able to go through the online affiliate that you booked through and tell them that we will not be charging you for your stay and have refunded you in full on our end. Any charges they charge you are their own fee's and in no way related to us.

The Devlin is a really nice throwback. Actual keys for the rooms. Entering the room from the outside. It was great. And the rooms have all been updated and modern. They're clean and spacious and comfortable.
The location is easily walkable to downtown Lake Placid. And the price was very affordable.
I'm looking forward to being back there soon.

The Devlin is situated at the end of the main strip close to the arena. This is indicative of loud hockey teams. It is an older motel so the sound proofing could be better. That being said the staff was great and the rooms were decent.

Beautiful hotel perfect for a weekend trip. About a 20 minute walk from downtown Lake Placid, and about a 30 minute drive from the Adirondack Mountain Reserve. The room was spacious and comfortable, and beautifully kept. The vintage Olympics decoration in the lobby is a nice unique detail. Would definitely stay here again!

Wouldn't let me cancel my reservation and charged me the full amount when hardship fell and I wasn't able to make it.

Hello Amanda, We do apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. However, we let all our guests know that when you book through an online travel agencies (OTAs). You must contact the OTA that you booked to cancel, it is our policy. It is also our cancellation policy, that you have 72 hours to cancel a reservation, or you can be charged for the full amount. That being said, you had spoken with one of our colleagues the day after your reservation and they did refund your reservation for the full amount on October 14th. If this is not in fact correct, please reach out to us. Also, we hope that everything with your family is okay and we wish you the best. - Devlin Team
