So much potential
Posted 25 Jun 2022 on HotelsThis is a very beautiful location. Be sure to get a room with ocean view, the view is beautiful. Casabela feels like it has seen better days. But there is so much to like here. The breakfast quality is only mediocre and the sound insulation between rooms is not good. But if you have a bit of a sense of adventure, this is well worth a look

Ein schönes ruhiges Hotel mit idyllischem Strand.

Not a good experience
Posted 25 Jan 2020 on HotelsUpon arrival I was told that the since the hotel was fully booked, I had been "upgraded" to a sea-view room... Such "upgrade" meant that I was sent to a dungeon-like room, dark and smelling of mould, in an area of the hotel which could not be reached by the lift, and therefore one had to climb up (or down) a narrow spiral staircase in order to reach it.
The room was extremely outdated and lacking the most basic amenities (including bottled water), and the bed linens looked slightly dirty and untidy.
Further, it was impossible to get food in the establishment outside of very narrowly determined times. At the swimming pool bar, supposed to have food service all day long, they had run out of the most basic ingredients. The one think they could prepare, a sort of tortilla sandwich, was a caricature of a tuna roll, with 15g of canned tuna, 2 leaves of lettuce and an anemic slice of tomato, in a raw and cold tortilla.
The icing on the cake was the exhoribitant price of €225 per night for a hotel that was at most worth €100/night, and them denying to have found a brand new pair of shorts I had left in my room upon departure, and making me call back 3 times throughout the day (every time making up a different excuse) in order to find out. No words of courtesy or apology were ever offered throughout.
In short: AVOID.

First we are sorry to hear that the “anonymous client” has been here in August and he needed 5 months to write a report about his impression and that he was not feeling happy.
We do recall this “anonymous client” as he started with unfair complaints because his friends were allocated two floors above.
Of course on a holiday destination one can find also low-cost hotels, which is not our case.
The price of the hotel in our category and period of the year is totally correct.
The client booked the cheapest and last minute opportunity to get a room and we even upgraded it.
The room typology he got upgraded was the garden sea view and our clients normally appreciate this allocation, because of the direct access to the garden, pool and beach.
Our service times for food are the following:
Breakfast – 08h00 to 10h00
Snack-Bar at the pool area – 11h00 to 18h00
Restaurant – 19h00 to 22h00
Of course the hotel provides À la Carte service and local Portuguese food.
We do not provide “tortilla” a Spanish speciality as we are in Portugal.
We are not an “All Inclusive” hotel.
We are sorry to hear that the client’s shorts were not found.
We are not responsible for items left behind after the clients’ departure.
Our Housekeeping Department services do not deserve these comments because they have been working very professionally for many years and they are famous for their cleanness high standards.
