In this famous Acapulco performance, watch divers soar with breathtaking precision from towering cliffs into the Pacific Ocean below.

No trip to Acapulco is complete without a visit to La Quebrada Cliffs. Watch divers leap from great heights into brilliant blue waters. Since the tradition began in 1934, this fearless demonstration has been among Mexico’s most iconic performances. View it for yourself and find out why it has excited visitors for years.

See one of the five daily performances. The divers must coordinate their shows with the waves  so that they land when the water is deepest. Catch the first show in the early afternoon or stay around for one of the evening shows. These feature divers carrying flaming torches which are only extinguished when they hit the water. The spectacle is extraordinary to behold at any time of day, but the nighttime shows are truly unforgettable.

Observe the divers climbing barehanded up the cliff to its highest peak. From here, they plunge more than 136 feet  feet (41 meters) into the waters below. Note how narrow the channel is this daring feat takes years of training for the divers to learn how to safely land.

Choose from two platforms to view the show. The first, which is free, gives a good view of La Quebrada Cliffs but gets crowded quickly. For a better perspective, ascend to the smaller platform which looks down on the divers. This has a nominal entry fee, but is worth the price.

Alternatively pay a cover charge to dine at La Perla for a luxurious vantage point to experience the show. Sit on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace with a delicious meal and watch the spectacle unfold.

Choose Sinfonía del Mar for a more tranquil setting. Sit on the steps of this sweeping outdoor amphitheater overlooking La Quebrada Cliffs at a distance.

Plan to spend about 30 minutes watching the cliff divers. The show is free, but divers appreciate tips as they walk through the crowds following their performance. Don’t miss this experience generations of divers have made La Quebrada performances a popular attraction for nearly a century.
