Decent hotel close to many facilities
Posted 21 Sep 2018 on HotelsLarge, well proportioned bedroom with large ensuite additionally..Hot water was instantly available with a good shower. Colourful decoration. No balcony but window opened out on to the car park. Large carpark front and rear ( free ). Has 3-4 lifts for guests from the lobby. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Very clean room. Over the weekend , the breakfast was really good ( Hot- Bacon, eggs sausages etc and cold Continental (hams, cheeses) with lots of fruit and pastries. On the monday morning, there were far fewer items on display as the number of guests had dwindled considerably eg No fresh fruit; only canned;. 6 rashers of bacon and 3-4 eggs in total; certain pastries missing and so on. There are 3 large supermarkets only 2-3 minutes away ( Lidl, Aldi, Mercadona) monday-saturday only. The number 4 bus about every 20 minutes takes you to the Aqueduct for 1Euro pp each way. Stop and terminus for the return journey outside Lidl just down the road. Every half hour on sundays. Or you can walk to the Aqueduct in 30 minutes. 2-3 bars serving tapas and raciones close by and the restaurant opens at 8.30pm for dinner.
A free in room safe is offered but a 30 euro deposit is required ( refundable). The inroom wifi was poor with great variation in signal strength. The lobby was a little better but still below standard.

Hotel Puerta de Segovia is an older, though not charming hotel that is able to host larger meetings and events. Located on the outskirts of Segovia, it is a long walk into the city center. There is plenty of on-site parking. There are plenty of supermarkets, convenience stores and the like nearby. Reception desk personnel were friendly and competent. My room was comfortable and adequately cleaned each day and breakfast was acceptable.
