Perfect place for us

Posted 21 Feb 2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: No plumbing problems so we could have stayed all our nights there.
Location: Walking distance to the ferry and town. Bikes make the whole island accessible. It was self catering and we could walk to a Take-Away.
The location was walking distance from the ferry. The problem was, there was no room for us even with a confirmed reservation . There had been a plumbing problem. They found a room for us that wasn't convenient or nearly as nice but made up for it with bicycles. The next afternoon, we did get a room at Oceane. It was large with an even larger bathroom. It had a shared kitchen (never saw anyone else use it) and a patio where we could eat. There was a communal cold tub - La Digue is Hot and Humid (no one else used it). In the future, each room will have its own outdoor kitchen. The proprietors couldn't have been nicer, even taking us the Grand Anse. They realized we'd never make it on bikes.

Most amazing stay experience

Posted 27 Mar 2016 on Hotels
They are awesome hosts. The guy Jude from the hotel received us at the Jetty and provided a free transfer to the hotel. He guided us about places to visit and marked everything in the map. We hired bicycles from the hotel for a reasonable rate. The hotel room was fantastic and romantic with a huge balcony facing the sea. There is a nice beach nearby. The hotel's restaurant serves good food and they were so kind to take our orders beforehand to serve us faster when we arrived at the restaurant for lunch. They arranged us a taxi for return at a reasonable rate. Overall awesome hospitality and a great place to stay. 100% recommended.

very disapointed

Oceane being a self catering, really the expectations were minimum. Still we returned very disappointed. The location near the jetty of Oceane ( as shown on Hotels.com) for which we booked was not given. We were sent to some remote place isolated structure about 5-10 min cycling distance from jetty ( thats about 30 mins walk which is huge considering the size of La Digue). It was horrible and scary as we were traveling with an infant. The reason given for the "UPGRADE" was the room we booked by us was occupied by some one else. This was even more irritating because Oceane from their side had suggested a suitable room after we booked. Thereafter they did not even bother to check if that room can be alloted. Disgusting!! Oceane was sent a request at time of booking for early checkin. Leave apart early, we were alloted the "Upgrade" room more then an hour late. We were made to wait and wait because their contracted taxi was not available. The So called "upgraded" room alloted seemed unsused from long. Dust all around. Even the beds had dust on it. Umbrellas broken. Power constantly tripping all through out the stay. Jude did try to fix it multiple times but the tripping duration only increased from 2 mins to 1 hour. It was horrible experience all around. Only pro was Jude's willingness to help. But really his willingness didnt help. Nothing was in his control that he could fix. Thank fully the horror ended.

da evitare

Pros: niente
Cons: E' pieno all'nverosimile di oggetti di vario tipo.

Perfect stay

Perfect location. Great place, clean and tidy. Melton and Coleen are the best hosts in the island. They know everything about La Digue and Seychelles and can give you suggestions that other hosts cannot (I experienced that with other friends staying at different places). Melton is also a great chef, please try one of his meals. Highly recommended.
