A rustic stopover at the Roulottes Du Berry
Posted 21 Aug 2018 on HotelsPicked out from a the usual hotels as something different. The caravans are much more ‘rustic’ than the pictures but habitable. Was very hot and the air cooling unit didn’t make any difference. We had to be moved from one caravan as the door was not closing and the other was difficult to close. I guess from the wood movement, they are a little wonky. The staff were polite and friendly.
Nice to have a small pool for the kids. The communal games room/restaurant was good for quick meals and had pool table/table football and table tennis for the kids. Good for a stopover, not sure we would spend more than a couple of nights. Still very happy we picked it for a one night experience (2 adults and 2 kids).

So You Want to Live in a Tiny House?
Posted 28 Jul 2017 on HotelsThis place is for people who want to have a unique experience in Europe. It is not really a hotel but a place to "camp." It is kind of a "tiny house." The rooms are actually train wagons that can sleep up to five adults. They have a bathroom with a shower, kitchen, and a table with five chairs inside. It is great for adults, but I guarantee that young kids will love it.

Great location, fun area, the trailers are great fun to stay in. The wifi did not work and the breakfast was very underwhelming.

Characterful, but past its prime
Posted 8 Sep 2016 on HotelsOne night stop off on journey. Site was essentially empty with only one other occupied caravan out of 50 odd. Not allowed to keep car near caravan, so need to be aware if have fully loaded car that you don't want to leave unattended. Wifi didn't work near caravan and staff had no knowledge of what to do. Caravans characterful but in need of refurb/maintenance, particularly shower which didn't 'encourage' usage. Not spotless, but different to a hotel guests should be aware that they will be expected to clean caravan and unmake beds, otherwise will be charged a further 20 Euros. Very pleasant experience as quiet and a bit of character, but asset getting very tired and needs investment.

A one night stop over and would highly recommend its uniqueness!!. Children loved it and the pool was a bonus. Wish we had more time to explore.
