The charm of the old ryokan feel and style was so beautiful and quaint! My daughters loved it as their favorite place to stay. The staff was superb! We felt as if the staff and place was like visiting a relative. Loves the library upstairs and the breakfast being offered in our room. Food was superb! Area was so nice to walk everywhere. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The staff were very friendly and made us feel comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. Highly recommend and would like to visit again for longer!

Wonderful staff, authentic experience. Very clean and well located. Highly recommend.
But be prepared to sit on the floor and a floor level futon. And to use shared toilet and bath.

Thank you for your stay and for your wonderful review.In Japan, soft mats called tatami mats are spread out on the floor, and it is common to sleep by placing a futon directly on top of them.However, there are some customers who are not used to futons, so we will work hard to quickly respond to requests for additional mattresses.Two of the five rooms have a private toilet.In other rooms, you will have to use a shared toilet.We will improve this explanation on our homepage to make it a little easier to understand.Thank you very much for your valuable opinions.We will continue to work hard so that you will choose to stay at our ryokan again the next time you come to Kyoto.

I had high expectations of what Japan is like and this stay exceeded it. I walked in not knowing what to expect but the whole experience blew me away. I was well rested everyday after the crazy heat in kyoto.
