Hotel is fine, walking distance to Gion. But there is a big fire station right next to it so you will get fire trucks siren noise 24x7 and especially it's disturbing and loud at night. Also the metro train station is quite a walk.

I recently stayed at Sakura Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, just a short walk from major attractions, which made exploring the area so easy. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making check-in a easy and always ready to help with any questions. Lovely rooms with simple in-room kitchen facility & laundry. Very clean and felt very safe/secure. Friendly check in. This is a small hotel - the Sakura chain has been very reliable and economical for our family. Location on a busier street, but we were facing away - no sound issues at all. Location has wonderful access to temples, Gion (10 min walk). About a 15-20 min walk to Hanamikoji St. Highly recommend for families.

Great value. Close to major tourist areas in Kyoto. Great for a long stay because of kitchen washing machine, refrigerator and microwave. Not much communication with staff because there are times when no one is at the hotel.
