Staff were great to talk to about various things plus their English was great and they were very friendly! Shipping luggage was very easy as well! Would stay with them again!

Room was smaller than our hotel in Tokyo. However I'd you utilize the space under the bed and around the outskirts of the room it wasn't too bad. Amenities you have to get in the lobby. Free laundry.

We’re very happy with all the Sotetsu Hotels rooms are a little bit bigger than the APA hotels .
And customer service it’s the best .

Hotel daily breakfast's menu is of good varieties.
Walkable to subway.
Near convenient store.
Strong shower water pressure.
Good & generous supplies of amenities to choose from.
Rental of hair styling tools - no charge.
Friendly staff.
Cons - less storage space for clothes.

This was our first time in a Sotetsu property and the first thing that my wife mentioned after we hit our room was that this was a really upscale place. The property has quite a few things going for it - it's in a really great location, has a ton of amenities, and has a very attentive and helpful staff.
First off, the property is in a really nice location just between the Gojo station on the Karasuma line and the Kiyomizu gojo station on the Kintetsu line. This means you can easily reach most destinations in and around Kyoto and even beyond (like Nara). It is also easily walkable to Kiyomizudera temple and even the Sanjo/Shijo shopping area.
As for the property itself, it offers a ton of amenities. We're talking sunscreen, all sorts of tea/coffee, face masks, shoe polish, etc. - way beyond your standard soap/lotion and slippers. There are also additional items for free rental such as clothes irons, power adapters, umbrellas. The room itself was a bit on the small side compared to stateside but it was manageable. Note that there isn't a microwave in the room, though you do get a mini fridge. Another thing to note is that the water pressure in the restroom is superb, and apparently they use filtered water throughout the entire hotel.
Finally, the staff is very courteous and helpful whether in Japanese or English. Check in/out is super simple and they'll gladly hold your luggage before and after you stay. Overall a superb place for a reasonable price in Kyoto!

Our stay at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto-Kiyomizu Gojo was highly enjoyable. The staff offered excellent service and made us feel very welcomed. They were able to communicate all the different amenities they offered very clearly. Additionally, they helped with forwarding our luggages back to Tokyo.
The hotel is in a very convenient spot as it's on the same street as a bus stop, and a train station.
I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable, quiet experience in Kyoto, but also convenience after a long day of walking!
