I really like the machiya experience when coming to Tokyo. The unique feature of this property compared to other machiyas I stayed at is the outdoor Japanese style tub. This was awesome at the end of long days walking around in Kyoto.

Wonderful stay

Nice to stay
Posted 1 May 2018The house facilities are up to our expectation and it is comfortable and cozy.
The only problem that we encountered is it's very inconvenience to go their reception office just to check-in and get the key since we are having few large luggage. Besides, we have to find the reception office based on the gps, and then the staff just give us a guided paper map to the house that we were going to stay. We got lost as the house is in quite and narrow road of Gion.

Great location in Gion and a fantastic traditional house with everything you need. Great service from the reception upon arrival. The only very minor issue was what to do with our bags after check out (it was a hassle to return them reception back down at Kyoto station ). I would definitely recommend and we loved our stay!

Cosy Well maintained

Pros: Very well done up. Nice reception near Station and we got complimentary pickup from there to cottage
Cons: Issue is that we get to check in at 4pm and check out is at 10am.. leaving very little time for the exhorbitant price. Location is difficult to find
Location: All things in GION are walking from here, the Kaiseki lunch place is 1 min away.
Its a newly renovated, well maintained cosy house with large living, nice kitchen, 2 bedrooms on upper floor and the highlight is the open tub bath, which gives feeling of open air, but also is private from prying eyes.
