I don't think there is a better location in Kyoto to stay. You are away from the busier spots in Kyoto and the mountains are just a walk away. Getting up in the mornings and getting to explore right outside the hotel was very exciting. Great staff and quiet, clean rooms. Would highly recommend!

Staff was great and friendly - hotel was clean and comfortable - great area within walkable distance from several temples, shrines, and museums. Will definitely stay here again. 10/10. 5 stars

This property has three floors but no elevator. So if your assigned room is on the third floor, you would need to carry your luggage up the flight of stairs. Front desk staff spoke English. I arrived before dinner time, reception requested a staff from the kitchen team to help me with my luggage. The property is ideally located; 5 mins on foot to Heian Shrine and 20 mins on foot to Kiyomizudera.

I was suprised to find they have a nice little onsen style bath. It’s modest but perfect after a long flight. And most of the staff spoke English.

Nice but nothing fancy
Posted 9 Jan 2019 on HotelsIf you need a warm place to sleep in December, this hotel will do just fine. Staff super friendly and helpful. Restaurant in the main lobby was good for a quick meal. Nothing fancy here, though. No elevator, so be prepared. Rooms are a little shabby and small, but they are clean. Not much room to move or space for luggage. Cramped for a family of three.

The room is very small as well as the bathroom. The location is pretty good for sightseeing and food.
