Disappointing
Posted 16 Oct 2019 on HotelsAfter looking through the first 20 odd photos of the property on the app I went ahead and booked. The expectation v reality of what we actually got was somewhat disappointing. Before we saw our actual room. The property details state there is a lift…there was not. Found the gas to turn the cooker on but couldn’t get it to work. The toilet was so close to the wall that anyone over 5’3 has to sit sideways. The balcony was full of linen so we couldn’t actually sit outside and the door was hanging off it’s hinges when opened.
The location was good with the tube stations, pub and shop within 5 minute walk.
The room was clean and functional. Check in process was straight forward once we managed to locate the building.
In all honesty I felt a little missold on this based on the concentration of photos that made the rooms look modernised and refurbished. So pay attention to type of suite you’re booking to avoid disappointment. I clearly missed something.

Well.... what i didn't expect was to try and find the location of the office to collect the key, the description was not clear! it's also up 400 steps and then attempt to knock on a padded leather door - not easy. Thankfully we has booked an English speaking driver to collect us from the airport, so he was able to help. Even though we arrived within the allocated time slot, the room wasn't ready, however, we were given the key to drop our bags off.
The actual apartment is about 1 km away from the office, again the driver was able to help with the finding of the place. Without him, we would of been lost, angry and very annoyed.
You enter the apartment from the back of the shops, next to all of the bins (rather unpleasant smell) and the least picturesque arrival. So our apartment was number 77, which was quite a lot of steps, there is a lift which looks like its about 100 years old and a H&S nightmare, but it works, you just have to kick the 100's of cigarette butts out of the way.
We knew the apartment hadn't been cleaned, but when we entered it looked like a crime scene, I've seen crack dens (on the TV) look more appalling and cleaner. HOWEVER, what put us off most was the full ashtray - this was meant to be a NO SMOKING apartment! or is just NO SMOKING for the period that we stay?
We turned around, locked the door and posted the keys in the apartments mailbox. I messaged the bloke from the office who hasn't responded!!!!

Worst experience out of 50+ rentals in Kyiv!!!
Posted 15 May 2019 on HotelsExtremely unpleasant experience: 1) reception open only 2pm-6pm. 2) they changed the address, did not think it important to update their hotels.com details. 3) did not have keys on location (despite knowing at what time I was coming) 4) demanded fees that were not mentioned on their site. 5) Extremely rude and unpleasant during the whole process

First: Our office works from 10 till 18.00, if check-in time is later there is 24h reception where the guests can take the keys at any their comfortable time (it is indicated on the site)
2) about changing office adress we informed all our guests and there is exist informatin on the site
3) guests can take the keys at the office or reception
4) about deposit there is information on the site. We take deposit for the keys, what we return on check-out day
5) Always we are polite and happy to help to our guests with their questions or requests)

Neglected Apartment

It has been years overdue for new wallpapers, flooring, carpet. furniture is old and worn out, The TV is a old 35 year old Sony Trinitron it took them three days to get it working. A very neglected property. The staff was friendly and accommodating which made my stay enjoyable in spite of the conditions in the apartment

Pros: Clean
Cons: Owner said apartment was brand new but it did not seem to be brand new though it was Ok
Location: Location was great as it was central
Instructions on TV operation referred to a black remote but there was no black remote but 2 grey remotes. So spent the whole time with no TV

Not suitable for Expedia users expectations
Posted 10 Jun 2018This is an apartment rental service the address provided is not where the apartment is located. And it can be at some distance. Communications in English at key pick up and in case any needs arise will be difficult. The key pickup requires cash deposit equal to $40.
The apartment in which I ended up was next to construction site and had a lot of external noise. The bathroom was not to Western expectations (cheap plastic shower, small, dirty foam floor pad, etc.). Furniture was old and heavily used. Everything was "cheap rental" motif. It did have high ceiling and the bed was ok.
Obviously the problem with the deposit is that it need to be recovered. That requires coordination of "check out" time and inspection before you can receive it. This complicates your departure and makes your movements dependent on someone showing up on time (which did take place).
This may be workable for a Ukrainian/Russian speaker arriving from eastern Europe. This will be much more difficult for English speaker arriving from the west. Choose something else if you are the latter or feel adventurous,

You can read about deposit in reservation details ,and rules of staying .Windows are watching to the yard,and there was repaired ,now it is over . Shower cabin is standard size.
