"The staff was amazing. The food was good. The room was beautiful. I stayed in one of the above water bungalows. The only downfall is there is very little to do nearby. You are pretty much stranded on this island unless you arrange some kind of transport or tour. If you’re looking for a vacation where you can totally check out from the world this is it. If you’re looking for a place to do lots of activities, this is not. Management took care of everything I asked for, including an unexpected early arrival. "

"Tropical private paradise. Beautiful rustic bungalow right on aqua waters. We came on off season and felt like we had the island to ourselves. There are kayaks to use as well. If you want more restaurants and life come in the main dry season. There is coral snorkeling nearby and an amazing indigenous guide and chef named Calypso who showed us all the local animals, sloths, monkeys, frogs, caiman and plant medicines. James the host answered any questions or needs we had. Be sure to ask him a lot of questions because we wish we brought more water and food on the off season. But he’s very responsive and helped us with our needs. Be mindful this is a rustic jungle experience with lots of jungle critters, birds crabs, doggies around. Bring som bug spray and enjoy this adventurous experience. "

"We loved our immersion in nature, wellness, and excellent food and service! Gorgeous and comfortable open-air accomodations in the middle of the jungle. Our family of 3 stayed for 5 nights in the Queen Rainforest treehouse. It was a bit of a hike to get to our room (fine for us, but noting for other travelers who may have limited mobility), but WOW, what a view and cool experience. We saw several monkeys, sloths, and red frogs just walking around the property. The staff took care of all of our needs -- luggage, activities, transportation, etc. The food and drinks deserve their own special category -- nearly all of the ingredients come from the onsite farm -- and are prepared to absolute perfection at each meal. I highly recommend La Loma, if you are willing to step out of the ordinary and experience something completely unique!"
