"Stay away from this hotel: no person in the front desk; the heat was not working (-2 Celsius); no one answered the phone for customer service … worst nightmare for my stay in a foreign country that only a few persons speak English. "It’s a bit tricky to find the place but it’s as described, modern, clean and easy check in/ out. Good option in Beppu if you have a car I guess. "

"One of the best hotel rooms I've stayed in. Spacious, fully furnished with large beds, dining table, sofa, large fridge and cooking facilities. This is a self-check-in hotel so you will have to fill up all the details yourself and use an intercom to talk to a service agent. Very limited parking of only two spaces. Limited shopping and dining options in the very quiet area."

"Very big room, got dining table, sofa, our biggest room in Japan. But no reception, it’s a self check in. No luggage storage before check in. Close to station which is very nice. Our room got washing machine, and bathroom got air drying system, so clothes will dry quickly."

"This property has no staff onsite. So you have no ability to leave luggage before check in or after checkout, so you have to use the lockers at the train station. Email on entry was confusing and required a call. I observed similar struggles with other guests. Checkin is all via keypad. Room was a nice size, had a kitchen, and sitting area (cushions were stained). Location to the train station was nice, but it is not bar any hot springs or other attractions. "

The kitchen is well equipped and there is also a washing machine in the bathroom. The guesthouse is artistically designed and has a warehouse retro look. The ground floor is a cafe and also the check-in area (an email will be sent out on how to check in). There is no onsen onsite but we were offered...

"pros : cheap and clean cons : • this was by far my worst experience in Japan during my one month stay. When I booked (one day before my planned check-in), the manager demanded to know at what time I was planning to check in. I was surprised but happily obliged and gave him/her the precise time (4 pm). The check-in happens in another place (15 min away by foot) which is a guesthouse. I went there by 4 pm and found no one (even though it is mentioned everywhere that check-in time is between 4 pm...

"It is in a good place, friendly local neighbors, the surrounding area is quite & peaceful. The only noise came other tourists renting the upstairs unit. Other than that, I love it!!! We'll be back BEPPU."

"Great location if you’re visiting Hyotan Onsen etc. En-suite showers are a little small, and the hot water isn’t very hot (which is strange for a hotel with a hot spring). Not a big deal though because you could just go downstairs and shower in the on site hot spring. The Rooms had a great view of the city and the sea. Overall pretty decent place."

"Overall, a pleasant stay in a modest, nicely-equipped self-catering apartment with good communication and information from the owner. Conveniently close to the Beppu station and main shops in a quiet street. The layout of the apartment is a little unusual, but not a problem. However, there is a 30cm-high step between the living/bedroom area and the kitchen/bathroom area, and this would definitely be a problem for anyone with mobility issues."

"温泉は凄く気持ちよく◎です！近隣の窓から浴室丸見えの点は...ですが... 掃除は綺麗にされていました！食器なども揃っていて、良かったです！一軒家なので子連れには最高でした！住宅地ななので、道が狭かったです。また、エアコン(テレビの部屋)が壊れているのか、タイマーのランプが点滅して1時間程で切れてしまいます。また、あり🐜がでます。リビング横の畳の部屋で寝たのですが、起きたらアリがわんさか... ビックリでした。 "

"We had a great time visiting our daughter and Oita. The place was about a 15 minute walk from the train station. It was roomie. Was nice inside as well. We would stay there again in the future."
