Beginners and families enjoy snow sports at this friendly ski resort in winter. Summer months offer opportunities to bike, hike and spot wildlife.

Kungsberget Ski Resort is a large and welcoming Swedish ski area. With 18 runs, 10 lifts, a vertical drop of 650 feet (200 meters) and a mile-long (1.7-kilometer) trail, the resort presents challenges for both first-time and experienced skiers. Discover a well-groomed snow park, complete with a mix of boxes, jumps and rails. The snow-covered terrain is ideal for practicing your freestyling skills or watching seasoned skiers perform impressive tricks.

Families and children are welcome at Kungsberget Ski Resort. Have fun on the specially designed snowracer and sledding runs. Children can also compete in a downhill slalom race, held every Saturday. If you’re relatively new to skiing, sign up for lessons with a qualified instructor. Choose between family, group or private classes.

Visit the resort on a Friday during the ski season to try night skiing and snowboarding on illuminated trails. For a break from downhill activities, explore the picturesque snowy grounds along a series of cross-country skiing tracks.

During your downtime, get food and drink at the slope-side and base area à la carte restaurant, snack bar and pub. Look for the designated picnic areas with public-use barbecue grills.

Find a range of hotels and lodges at Kungsberget Ski Resort’s base area. They open year-round and provide access to biking and hiking trails in the summer. Enjoy relaxed summertime walks through the verdant alpine forests of Sweden’s Nordic wilderness. Watch for a myriad wildlife, such as beavers, elks and owls.

Kungsberget Ski Resort is about a 3-hour drive north of Stockholm. A combination of trains and buses provide public transportation between the resort and Stockholm’s city center. Alternatively, rent a car and drive through Sweden’s spectacular countryside.

The resort’s ski season and lift operating hours are from December to April. Find information about activity prices, accommodations and lift passes on Kungsberget Ski Resort’s official website.
