All the photos are deceptive. There is no airport shuttle for pickup and no breakfast. Rooms have faulty equipment and lightning malfunctioning. Very deceptive advertising

I was asked to pay cash in GHC instead of using my visa card. But all the same it was good and I am pleased with the place.

Terrible
Posted 20 Jan 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Stayed here on a business trip. Very run down and shabby hotel, does not meet Western standards, avoid at all costs. Do yourself a favor and stay in the Golden Tulip or Golden Bean.

It's a rundown place, needs renovation.

Pros: Nothing, unreasonably expensive. The pictures I saw online didn't convey it's poor state.
Cons: The rug in the lobby stinks, no hot water in the shower. .
Location: The noise of the nearby busy road always intrudes into the room day and night.

Pros: There is nothing good that I could like.
Cons: Everything needs to be improved. Even true photos of the hotel and true facilities need to be uploaded in the website.
Location: The location is not good and after sunset it was difficult to go anywhere.
I do not want to spend my valuable time by writing about my terrible experience.

Golden Fumigate
Posted 10 Mar 2016The room was a little dingy and unclean on arrival. Not necessarily a problem, but an hour later the entire 2 floor of the hotel was floor to ceiling with insecticide. The hotel staff said it was safe but it certainly didnt breathe that way.

Worse Hotel Ever
Posted 6 Mar 2016Very poor customer service. No shuttle service were provided though they've advertised that on their website. I have to carry all my luggagese to hotel room without help from hotel staff and there was no elevator. My hotel rooms were infested with roaches and have to change room three times during my five days stay. Finally on the last day (3-5-16) of my check-out. I woke up at 6:00am only to discovered that arm robbers entered my room while sleeping through a back door and stole my personal belongings. They stole my Microsoft Surface 4, Samsung Galaxy S5, Pen- drive with all my work information and over 4,700 Ghana cedis. I only thank my God that I had my passport and huge amount of dollars hidden somewhere in the bathroom before going to bed at 2:15 am and just little over 3 hours, those thieves were able to break into my room to steal all the listed items above. To my surprise, I was told at the Police Station where I went to lodge a complaint that my 4th person to report robbery at this very Hotel within the last 10 months. So fellows, this is my experience at Golden Gate at Amakom in Kumasi, Ghana. I've to change cut down my stay in Ghana by two more weeks and fly back to the US. Be Warned, fellow Americans; DO NOT STAY in this below standard hotel called Golden Gate and I urge Expedia to remove them from their lists.
