Poor lighting around tents. Pretty distant from sanctuary. Otherwise , great place to be in for a short holiday. Riverside view good. Didn’t get to see much birds in the camp. Food options limited. No in house restaurant. Courteous staff.

Australian family with 8 and 11 yr olds. A very mixed experience with staff hence that part of the review: Naturalist guide Abilash and birding was amAzing. Guest relations manager very attentive. Restaurant staff borderline unfriendly. Lots of miscommunication from bookings person that led to a lot of avoidable stress and triple check if they have availbility during peak times even if Expedia says they have plenty of tents avail. Superb location / cabins and we Loved kayaking on Periyar. Early morning mist magical. If travelling with children its not actually that family freindly. Take a lot of snacks. Expect river to be out of bounds and bikes and kayaking equipment to only suit large adults. Buffet dinner good value. Lunch exorbitant for a very meagre thali. Loved being there overall and if you set expectations low on the points mentioned that need attn, then Im sure youll love it too.

Good views of the river Periyar

Located in a beautiful setting, right by the river. Good for bird-watching. However, the shower room was very basic and the tent walls were dirty inside - overpriced for what it is. Some of the male staff in the reception/restaurant area were not very friendly or attentive at all.
