This property is absolutely not recommended for people who would want a decent stay. It’s not clean, stinky and old dirty utensils…..

It’s a comfortable stay , Heritage appeal , The bell boy Raja is incredibly helpful , Room was a bit small , but given the historical nature it’s bearable ,Only slight discomfort is the noisy window ac , Rest it’s a fantastic stay , not to forget right in front of the iconic New market

Meh...

Posted 11 Dec 2023 on Hotels
We were given a different room than what we paid for. After complaining to Hotels.com they called and offered to show us the correct room. Hallways are dirty, linen not the nicest, towels stained. Very little hot water but typical for India. Probably a nice hotel in the day. Great location across from the New Market. Cleaning staff and front door staff were excellent and very helpful. Rooftop bar/restaurant was very nice.

A Horrific Experience

Posted 12 Mar 2023 on Hotels
It was simply a horrible experience staying in Lindsay. I will never stay there again nor i will recommend someone. Support staffs were good and cordial. Even plates were using during breakfast , were so old no can imagine unless you experience thru it. Furniture were all broken down. Amenities were good.

Very bad hotel

Posted 16 Dec 2022 on Hotels
A bad experience. Service was rude and unhelpful. Room was much smaller than the photos showed. Very noisy part of town - not recommended at all for guests looking for a relaxed holiday. When we said that we would move out, the hotel refused to give any refund - we lost 11 days of paid stay. Maybe okay for somebody on a business trip in that area - book only for one day first and then see how it goes.

Room description is not what you get (Misleading)

Posted 21 Apr 2022 on Hotels
I think there is a kind of scam going on - real (1) to (5) below - this is based on my experience. (1) The description and photos are not the room that is given to you. When you say it to the receptionist, they argue and blame it on the platform (HOTELS.COM), However, I think Hotels.com cannot be blamed (based on my experience in several countries); (2) The receptionist will call the hotel manager to show that they are trying to help the customer, but it is a charade. The manager will say, you can let the customer go by entering "no show". Obviously, this means you will lose some money as they flag you as "no show" - your card details are already with Hotels.com (this is the reason that I stayed in the hotel, rather than walkout); (3) After manager disconnects, an additional choice is offered - pay 35-40% for the room you thought you booked (i.e., same description and the one you see in the photo). It appears that Lindsay has one Junior Suite (INR5,500+ GST). With that room rate, you could get a better room at a different hotel. A hotel that is is clean and not dated (with Lindsay, the theme of the hotel is nostalgia, but one may have both nostalgia and the clean rooms and facilities). (4) I understood this to be a scam, since the receptionist asked me to check the room "repeatedly" before paying, First I thought he was being polite, but then it occurred to me that this is happening regularly (i.e., misleading customers) and they anyway know at that point guest cannot leave
