We considered cancelling our trip due to having a car accident, called Wotif/the hotel manager to discuss and was verbally abused by the hotel manager then had all money drained from our credit card. Even though we had decided to attend because we paid for the accommodation, we were blocked by the hotel manager who wouldn’t take our calls. Currently dealing with the relevant ombudsman to put forward a formal complaint. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel or booking through Wotif.

This is an entirely fictional version of events. I never raised my voice although I did finally hang up when you would not let me speak and you were yelling. You wanted to cancel three days before Easter although your cancellation policy was 14 days in advance for payment with no refund. I actually did not receive the full payment as you took all the money out of your account.
You were not blocked by us on the phone, and nothing prevented you from attending. Your reservation was never cancelled by WOTIF.
People have bad things happen and it is very unfortunate. We recommend travel insurance for this reason. We are not your travel insurance company and asking us to take on this loss is not viable.

You were not in a Covid area so that is not a valid reason. Expedia has confirmed this. The fact is you wanted to change then cancel your booking way too late. You booked a week from Christmas to New Year's, which is our peak season and helps get us through the year. You called and said you were on the Gold Coast and were flying soon to Cairns. You were not in the Covid area which was Sydney. We even talked about that at the time.
You booked a suite for two people but said you said you were now a group of four. The suite would not be big enough and days before Christmas you wanted another, which we did not have. So an hour later you wanted to cancel because of Covid. I'm sorry your plans changed but I am not your travel insurance company. You breached the cancellation policy. How does that justify one star? I give you one star back as a customer. No one to blame but yourself. Don't expect me to eat the loss. Suggest travel insurance next time.

Location, rooms, very clear, creek staff, easy if check in, overall amenities. It was exactly as it as advertised

Beautiful spot in the rainforest. Peaceful. Lots of space to roam and for children to play which was wonderful

Very eclectic cabins in the rainforest! Loved the pet cockatoo. Saw wallabies and other wildlife

We are glad you enjoyed your suite in our Lodgehouse, ( we dont have cabins). We have lots of wildlife here. I am so glad you got to experience some of it.

Relax in the rainforest...
Posted 14 Mar 2017 on HotelsWe loved this family run place...the owners were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and so helpful in suggesting trips and places to visit. The kids did their bit to help too and we were given a lovely tour of the property by 5 year old Maive! If you're looking for a quiet place to relax in the beautiful rainforest this is the stay for you!
