Back in the 1940s, Knott's Berry Farm® was a ghost town designed to keep diners occupied and entertained while waiting for their meal at Mrs Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Today it has become one of America's favourite theme parks, with a whole host of thrill rides which will take you deep into California's rich and fascinating heritage.
With five different zones open for visitors to explore, there is plenty to see and do. Start out where it all began at the Ghost Town, which lies in the heart of the park. This was where the Knott family brought many old Arizona houses which they had purchased in order to keep them for future generations.
Then head to the Mystery Lodge where you will hear Native American storytellers take you through time, before you watch the bucking bronco riders at The Wild West Stunt Show, get on board the Calico Railroad, or take time out on the water at the Bigfoot Rapids.
After visiting the cactus-filled badlands, for a peaceful stroll, head The Boardwalk, lined with palm trees. Or for a more heady adventure, try the Boomerang, Supreme Scream, and Perilous Plunge before admiring the view from the Sky Cabin. Further south, you can explore Fiesta Village with its Spanish Mission era ambience. Throughout the Indian Trails meanwhile, you will discover a dazzling array of stories and symbols of America's natives. If you're bringing young visitors, take them to Camp Snoopy, part of the park dedicated just to children.
If you love water, bring your swimming things with you and splash around for a while in Knott's Soak City Water Park, based on the surf culture of the 1950s, Play around in the flumes, slides and wave pools throughout this 5-hectare expanse. It’s easy to spend a whole day just in this part of the park./p>
