It is a nice place . . I got a nice spacious room . . I met a great manager, Doris, who really cooperated with me in all aspects.

The environment is good and central, but the room is not as described in the picture. The beddings is the worst I have seen in the recent past. Rooms seem not well partitioned as noise from adjacent rooms would not allow lodgers sleep. My stay isn’t worth the money.

Hi Michael,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're happy to hear you found the location convenient. We’d like to clarify that you originally booked an economy room, but as a gesture of goodwill, we offered you a free upgrade to a larger double room. This may explain why the room was different from the picture of the economy room you selected.Regarding the bedding, we use high-quality 200-400 thread count 100% cotton linens. If these didn’t meet your expectations, we also have alternative options available in our laundry room, and we would have been happy to provide a change upon request.Concerning the noise, our rooms are insulated with soundproof foam, but like many hotels, achieving full soundproofing can be challenging. We have placed noise-control signs to encourage consideration among guests, but unfortunately, we sometimes encounter inconsiderate behavior that is beyond our control. We appreciate your feedback and are constantly working to improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide an even better experience.

It was misadvertizing on the Expedia platform This is a Hostel NOT an exclusive rooms There’s absolutely NO sound insulation you can hear next door person talking… NO smoke detectors in the room The doors are NOT fire proof as per regulations in Ontario There’s NO tv in the room ( it’s a mandatory for Airbnb) Carpet in high traffic areas, which is very hard to maintain clean Towels were very old and ripped Was absolutely misleading and overpriced for that room And I don’t think residential house can be converted for Hostel without any safety and fire regulations by Ontario laws

Hi Nick,From our record, you have rented a Type 1 king bedroom with an ensuite bath in our executive guest house. This house has hardwood main floor, a modern kitchen with granite countertop, stainless steal appliances, bathrooms with modern fixtures, a fireplace, and a large deck. Our listing on Expedia stated clearly that this is a private room with a private modern bath in a guest house. The guest house is shared only by guests– unlike a traditional B&B. We have Ontario approved smoke detectors in the kitchen, living rooms, and hallways and this meets Ontario standard as we passed the fire inspection we had last year. Since all the bedrooms are non-smoking rooms, and there is no cooking equipment, smoke alarms were not required inside the bedrooms at the time of built. The guest houses were also built according to all Ontario building codes. The walls are insulated with soundproof foam, but like hotel rooms, fully sound-proof is hard to achieve. We have put noise-control and consideration signs in the house, and we all feel frustrated about inconsiderate people. None of our rooms have a TV, and we made that clear in our description that TVs are in living areas. We do have TVs in the 3 living rooms of our 7 or 8-bedroom house. Our living room floors and lower areas are all hardwood, and upstairs are carpet. We are equipped with an in-house steam cleaner and we steam-clean the carpet regularly, similar to hotel rooms. We provide clean towels in every room, as well as extra towels in the laundry room free for guests to use. We apologize if some of our towels are older. We do have brand-new ones if guests request. We hope you understand that we are providing a clean, comfortable, and safe guest house at a daily rate from 69 + tax, with full use of kitchen, laundry facilities and daily cleaning service in the common areas. We are not a 5 star hotel, nor are we a hostel. A guest house with the amenities was what you chose to rent. We have provided you exactly as what we advertised.

An adventurous alternative to hotel stay

Posted 10 Jun 2024 on Hotels
Staying at a "guest house" was a new experience- private bedrooms, but shared bathrooms, kitchen & living area. Home-y to have cupboards full of needed utensils, system to label your personal food items by room#; pleasant decor, back deck to sit & sip morning tea. Extra bonus of meeting new people & having conversations with other residents/guests in the common area.

the price was quite reasonable. The room was very hot with no way to cool it down. The property was unkempt--the grass had not been cut and it looked uncared for, and the back deck looked to be in poor repair. The parking was odd--with a two car driveway marked off for three cars. The only way for our vehicle to get there was to drive over the sidewalk.

Hi David,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. Maintaining our property to the highest standards is a top priority for us, and it’s clear we fell short during your visit. We have addressed the landscaping issues and scheduled regular maintenance to ensure the grass is always well-kept. Regarding the back deck, we are aware of its condition. It has been inspected for safety and is safe to use; it just needs to be pressure washed. We also appreciate your note about the driveway markings. During the winter season, the city street does not allow overnight parking, so we had to widen our driveway with patio stones to create a third parking spot for the guest house.Your comments are invaluable in helping us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again.
