Welcome to Kista, a city within a city. In the 1980s the suburb north of Stockholm was referred to as the Silicon Valley of Sweden because of the many start-ups, tech hubs and entrepreneurial culture in the area. Today it is known for its huge shopping centre Kista Galleria, which attracts crowds from the rest of the city. The nearby library was voted "Public Library of the Year" and is well worth a visit.
In the shopping paradise you can choose between no less than 180 shops and restaurants, all under one roof. Enjoy a range of attractions, luxury boutiques, popular clothes shops and eateries. When you need a break, you can go to the cinema in the same shopping centre, or why not go bowling? Buy anything from clothes and accessories to books, electronic goods and homeware during your weekend trip to Kista.
If you want to explore the surrounding nature, but stay close to the sights of Central Stockholm, this might just be the place for you. There are plenty of green areas contrasting with the modern concrete and steel of Kista, most famously the nature reserves Igelbackens Naturreservat and Jarvafaltet. Kista is near Hagaparken, which is not just a gorgeous park, but also the home of Crown Princess Victoria and her family, who live in the palace Haga Slott.
Visit the giant venue Friends Arena if you want to see the world's greatest international acts, or attend exhibitions at Kistamassan. Friends Arena is ten minutes from Kista by car and from there you can walk to Kistamassan. They offer exciting and business events all year round. In the area there are plenty of lovely hotels in all price ranges.
During your holiday in Kista there are many attractions in the capital, for example the Old Town and Skansen Open Air Museum. Kista Galleria is a short underground journey from the city.
Book a trip to Kista and explore this exciting shopping centre. You will experience a welcome respite from everyday life, come rain or shine.
