The lack of "hospitality" from the greeter was off-putting. Expecting much more, e.g. "cozy breakfast" was promised - then told that breakfast was "cereal, toast, and coffee". Third floor walk-up, no elevator. Steep stairs, small room, limited towels, soap, etc. Tiny stall shower. No cups for drinking, no facial tissues, Broken handles on the one dresser, tiny TV (not the HD TV promised). No heat control - too hot - then no screen in window. Generally a huge disappointment for a room of this price. We left at dawn after the first night. Looking for a refund!!

This is an unfair review. Complaining about the "lack of hospitality" when I offered to bring his luggage upstairs? This guest expected "eggs and bacon" for breakfast during check in when the Expedia site doesn't advertise such (and anybody can fact check this). "Third floor walk up, no elevator, steep stairs" It is the guest's responsibility to ask for a first floor room AT THE TIME OF BOOKING if that is the preference. No lodging in the area has elevators other than perhaps the Killington Grand Hotel (). Our lodge is a 2 star hotel with accommodating rates and if any guest expects more upscale features then the guest needs to look for a more luxurious accommodation (and pay for it). Also the Foliage season in Vermont is very busy with travelers FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD and people must expect rates everywhere to be on the high end. It is also very interesting to say that once we refunded the second night this guest posted this unfair review. We have had many guests staying in the same room this guest stayed in and instead they say things like "awesome stay" in their reviews. Go figure. Granted we have things to improve but we have been working hard for the 6 years we have been owners. There are many guests who have been coming to this Lodge year after year and have witnessed all we have accomplished.

This place has seen better days. No matter how clean the owner keeps it. It has seen thousands of people and is worn out. The walls are paper thin and no matter how much Febreeze is sprayed, each room has a different odor. I am sure that skiers appreciate the affordability and the group atmosphere . but I don’t know who else could appreciate it…

We certainly do have our attention in improving our rooms, we have done few but need to continue with this big task. A lot of people appreciate lodging that is affordable, friendly and clean, and our reviews speak for that. Unfortunately recently we had to put all our attention to infrastructure investments like a Generator that maybe is not as catchy as newer furniture but if the power is out. New roof sections, water tanks, windows, etc...All that takes resources and effort. We are totally vested in the continuous improvement of this Lodge and we will keep working on it. Aaron & Inna

The property was beautiful, simple breakfast credibly helpful lovely staff. Expedia messed some stuff up and the hotel was more than happy To accommodate me despite the confusion kept my booking and were very welcoming when we arrived late at night. I do wish there was somewhere to sit outside and enjoy the view but the grounds were well Kept and very quiet area

Very friendly staff. Be aware that most rooms don’t have private baths. You share the bathrooms with other rooms on the same floor. Rooms are very small. Make sure you request a room with private bath if that’s important to you. Nice lobby area to hang out in, because there were no chairs in our rooms.
