Shopping, nightlife and a variety of festivals, as well as a famous Christmastime light display, are right next to Saitama Super Arena.

On any given evening, weekday or weekend, you’ll find a party going on in the Keyaki Hiroba. Located next to Saitama Super Arena, one of Tokyo’s biggest entertainment venues, and not far from most of Saitama’s downtown attractions, it is the destination of choice for a good time. During the day, the small mall has a variety of restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies and more, but in the evening, the second-floor courtyard livens up. Stop here for a few hours or check the calendar to attend one of Saitama’s famous beer festivals.

After a day visiting Saitama, stop at Keyaki Hiroba to purchase provisions. Check out the shops on its multiple levels. On the second floor, stands of zelkova trees are planted, creating a lovely green urban canopy. Varied events may be happening, from flea markets to food festivals, and, of course, beer celebrations. Enjoy the relative serenity when the square has no event, but locals congregate in small groups to socialize.

Grab a local beer, perhaps a Kawaguchi or a reliable Asahi, and find a seat near the Saitama Super Arena. Look out to see the Shintoshin train roll by from the nearby station.

In winter, bundle up well to spend time appreciating the elaborate lighting design that goes on display every night. Eat delicious local snacks and drinks while appreciating the beloved event and its ever-shifting themes.

Keyaki Hiroba is in the very heart of Saitama, and, in many ways, defines the district considered the downtown. Walk from Saitama Shintoshin Station in 4 minutes or from JR Kitayono Station in 6 minutes. Robust subway connections run from the area throughout the city and to the rest of metropolitan Tokyo. Drive from Haneda Airport in less than 1 hour. There is metered parking on site, and part of the parking fee can be waived with qualifying purchases. Finding parking can be difficult, however, especially when Saitama Super Arena is hosting events.

The square is always open. Hours for the individual stores in the complex vary.
