Kerry Park featuring a city, a high rise building and modern architecture

A quaint small park situated on Queen Anne Hill, and an ideal spot to gaze out and take in the captivating Seattle skyline.

Seattle is renowned across America, even across the globe, as a beautiful and pristine city. Its location by the Puget Sound, as well as its glittering tall buildings and the striking Mount Rainier standing proud in the background all make it a remarkably stunning place to spend some time. For great views and a chance to take some photographs to remind you of the Emerald City when you leave, take a trip to Kerry Park.

Watch the sunset from this captivating spot, where you’ll find yourself alongside professional and amateur photographers who come along to catch the spectacle too. Even late at night when the only light is coming from the moon and stars above the glittering cityscape is simply magical to admire, from the skyscrapers to the tall Space Needle and beyond.

Look towards Puget Sound and you’ll get to see boats and ferries sailing by. Up above Seattle you can look up on a bright and clear day and get to see Mount Rainier towering over the city.

Kerry Park is renowned across Seattle as a lovely place to come and spend some leisure time. Stretching over 4,000 square metres, it is a popular spot for dog walkers as well as for parents who come here to take a walk with their prams. Among the amenities the park has on offer are a playground, park benches, and a modern sculpture called Changing Form.

Many people however come to savour the extraordinary views of the city to be enjoyed from this spot. Look out for the telescopes lining the railings. Drop in a couple of coins and you can gaze through these to see the city’s great monuments up close.

About 15 minutes by car from downtown Seattle, Kerry Park stands on Queen Anne Hill, which itself is a quiet leafy neighbourhood with many traditional West Coast homes, making it an ideal place for a pleasant walk. Parking spaces quickly become occupied, so if you’d rather take public transport then the park is also easy to reach from the heart of town by bus or taxi.
