The Host never showed up or answered phone calls. We drove 4 hours from Tamarindo and had to leave after sunset after waiting for 2 hours with no response. I had limited cell phone service and was unfamiliar with the area. So, we drove hours to find a reasonable hotel with availability on very dark roads. The area was nice and I wish we had the opportunity to explore and enjoy it. The host later claimed he was at the dentist later in a message that night. I understand things happen but be cautious when making this booking and stay in contact with the host prior to driving into the rainforest. I received a refund for the stay but no other compensation for gas or the hotel we had to find later that night. Might be worth adding travel insurance.

This place was really nice. There’s a great view that is only open to gas of the property. It is conveniently located near the volcanic park as well as tours for Tubing and swimming in the river. The host Elias was very accommodating and he was understanding of our trip, timing and tour timings and make sure we could shower after we return from the hike. He also recommended lots of activities in the area. Very nice hammock on the balcony. Best view of the countryside, this is not a hotel and there’s no AC but you don’t need the AC because the mountain breeze is so cool especially at night. There is a refrigerator inside the room, seating area, and a bed. Very private very secure. Highly recommend.

For the price - excellent overall. This is not a deluxe resort, it's simply a room but excellent views and the basics are there. Elias is an awesome host and makes up for the simplicity of the room. I would caution that the location is very high up in the mountains and gets very windy at night. And it normally rains in the early evening. Those factors combined, the upstairs room seems to amplify the sounds of the weather through the night. Light sleepers may take issue. A few other simple things could help improve: a dehumidifier, more hooks for towels. Our shower head was very basic and not pointed straight down but more towards the wall which made showering less comfortable. All told, if you're here it's because you want to do all the things around Rio Celeste, and you can hardly get any closer to them than here. Plus Elias will arrange almost any of the tours around for a very reasonable price.

Love this place!
A great place to stay if you are looking for a laid back, rustic location with great views of the Arenal Volcano and the green, vibrant trees that cover the valley! The host, Elias, is very friendly and communicative and also helps suggest places to visit and to eat at.

Fantastic view! Overall pretty clean. Right next door to a trail to the Rio Celeste that was private. Location was also right beside a cell phone tower. Elias was friendly and helpful

Overall place was nice, has an amazing view and it is really close to the national park room is big enough and it has a terrace where you can sit an enjoy the view. My only 2 things are: there was no tv which for kids is a must, and the road to get there has no public light, so once it is dark outside is not like you can walk around… car is fine though

We stayed two nights at this place. Actually it was not in the hotel but to a place close by because we booked the family room which has a kitchen Which is good especially when it is rainy i prefer to cook. It is close by the national park and some activities around. The place (a small house for the family room) is a bit old caban but has its charm. We did not succeed to use tv and anyway the. Tv was over the soffa so it would have not be too comfy for that. But we got a lot of rain so we would have liked to check a bit. The area is nice with many plants and birds. I like the nature around. There was a small cosy terass to watch the rain.
