We stayed at the Osho Hotel from Oct 23rd until the 24th during our honeymoon before starting our trek to Everest Base Camp. Staff were friendly and helpful because almost everything was closed during Daishin. We left our luggage at the hotel storage while we hiked for 12 days and decided to switch to a nicer hotel when we returned. Everything was great up to this point. This is the part where we are VERY disappointed and not impressed with the Ohso Hotel. We came back from our trek, grabbed our luggage and headed to the new hotel. Everything was great, we were super tired from our trek and unfortunately caught Khumbu cough so we spent the day resting at the new hotel. We pulled out our laptop (an older Dell that we didn't bring trekking with us) to look at wedding photos that came in during our trek and our laptop was acting super sketchy and we had to factory reset it to start. Naively we didn't think much of it and enjoyed our last couple days in Kathmandu. When we got to the airport and I opened my headphones case to listen to some music on the flight, I realized that my Bose headphones were replaced with very cheap, broken headphones that weren't even mine but in the same pouch I had kept mine in... Suddenly it clicked that someone had gone into our bags and swapped my headphones with cheap knock-offs and tampered with our laptop so much (we are guessing trying the password too many times) that we had to factory reset it. There's no other place and time it happened.

Dear Michael, Please be informed that we are extremely sorry to hear from you that something happen with your luggage. As you mentions on your writing that there was someone replace your headphone and try to used your laptop which is not happen in our Hotel. As we kept your luggage in our steerage room and this room is locked and kept the key in our receptions. I make a meeting with my all staff available during that time and investigate myself but no one go and opened the bags. We are more than 10 year in this business and so far there was no any such complaint received and this is the first complaint i received. We are always keeping the TOP priority to our guest and their belongings kept in our storage. In future you can give separately to your valuable things to keep in our locker. Once again we are very sorry for this inconvenience cause. Looking forward to see you in future.Best RegardsRamHotel Osho Home

Pros: Good choice for breakfast, friendly staff. Nice clean room.
Cons: A bedside lamp would be good...
Location: Great location in a quiet alley.
A hotel in a great location but still in a quiet alley. The breakfast had a lot of choice and the staff is really professional and helpful. The price we got from Expedia was really good!

It's rated highly as a backpacker hotel. If you are not a backpacker, there are many other places in Kathmandu that are better for a slightly higher price.

Clean and comfortable in the middle of Thamel

Posted 1 Oct 2017
Pros: It was clean, comfortable and silent. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: Our room could be better looked after. One end of the window cover in our bathroom was loose and hanging askew but it wasn't fixed during our stay.
Location: Thamel is the heart of Kathmandu. It is very good for shopping. There are smaller temples around to go and see. Also it is full of restaurants to pick.
Our check-in and check-out worked like clockwork. The staff is very helpful and even arranged airport pickup for us at the last minute. The rooms are clean, comfortable and silent. The greatest bonus is the AC because Kathmandu can be hot and humid even at the end of September. Breakfast was good, the staff friendly and helpful.. You can go stay there without worries.

Small rooms, noisy at night

Posted 14 Apr 2017
Location: It's near Thamel and good shopping.
We tried this hotel for one night, before flying out the next day. After staying at Hotel Mum's Home previously, this was a bit disappointing. While the staff was very polite and helpful, the rooms and lobby (for breakfast) were so small. I was awoken several times during the night by loud people, vehicles, etc. Our room overlooked a lot full of garbage. The cold water didn't work at the sink in one of our rooms, and after one person took a shower, the hot water water didn't work at the sink in another room. I was quoted $7 for an airport pick-up, but when we went to check out and use the hotel van for airport drop-off, I was told it was $10 each way. Our last hotel had free airport rides.
