Excellent hotel if you like the quiet life
Posted 13 Jun 2016 on HotelsThe hotel and restaurant are superb. Kastellaun itself however is very much a town in decline. I grew up there and it is very sad to see so many vacant shops and so few people in the middle of the holiday season.

Great Hotel, Friendly with Fantastic Food
Posted 4 Apr 2016
Pros: The food.
We arrived and were promptly shown to our room which was clean and tidy, with a separate room for the children.
The shower was great with plenty of hot water for all four of us to shower.
We also had a walk around the area and took in the great castle only a few steps away.
We ate at the hotel and the food prepared by the hotel Chef was 1st class, with my son saying it was the best meal he had ever had (not withstanding his mums cooking).
Breakfast was good, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area with their family.

Quaint Hotel
Posted 5 Oct 2015We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel accommodated our two boys and two dogs. The children enjoyed the sleepy sheep gummies. The area around the hotel includes a castle ruin and church. We wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant, but since it was Saturday night and we hadn't made reservations, there was a wait. Had it been just my husband and I, we would've waited. Instead, we walked through town and found a Turkish diner and ate there instead. Overall, it was a great hotel and I'd highly recommend it.

A wonderful Hotel a Short Drive to Cochem
Posted 31 Aug 2015
Pros: Very charming!
Cons: Obviously, a lot of hotels in Europe are not handicapped accessible, so I think it would be a challenge for someone who has trouble with stairs
Location: We were there during the time of the Cochem wine festival and enjoyed the parade from the balcony of a local restaurant
I am from the USA and my friends are from the Netherlands. A group of us took a trip to film a music video in Cochem and we stayed at the Hotel Badische Kellerey for a couple of nights. We booked 2 rooms- each with 1 queen and 2 single beds. The buildings and the area were charming, the rooms were clean, and we enjoyed the sparkling water and gummy candies in the rooms :) We had plenty of space and a nice view, and the included breakfast was very good. On our last night we told the staff we would have to check out very early and so they left a bag at my door with breakfast for all of us for the next day, which was very sweet, and without pork, as requested. The couple who owns the hotel are also very sweet and friendly, and though none of our German was very good, the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely book this hotel again if I am back in the area. In fact, I have already recommended the hotel to my family.

Absolute Empfehlung

Jederzeit gerne wieder
Jederzeit gerne wieder.
