This property was just ok. It has definitely aged and needs updating. Their bathrooms especially could use a whole refresh. Check in was slow with a huge line, not sure why. Staff was pleasant but wouldn't say friendly. The only staff member I would give kudos to is the lady tending bar, wish I would have gotten her name. She was friendly and was working so hard to get everyone their orders quickly.

This property once was great but has fallen into decline. Overall, it needs renovations in the rooms, but most importantly, housekeeping and maintenance. Small things like the room was covered in 'scratches' in the paint that should be cleaned up, to larger things like a toilet that takes 2 minutes to slowly flush with nothing in it, to the grab bar in the shower having one side completely pulled out from the wall. From a cleanliness perspective, the room was very dirty, from debris on the floors to the most disturbing, which was a dried bloody handprint on the shower curtain. I was only there one night, so after a bedbug check (*which appeared clean), I just did a grin and bear it. That said, with as many great hotel options in the area, this one will be off my list after this stay. If the staff allows things like the maintenance to get that bad, the fact it wasn't clean seems like "Culture as expected".

Nice older hotel in the Plaza district. Easy to walk to shopping and safe. Hotel staff was very friendly and even the maid was friendly and spoke.

We always enjoy staying at this hotel. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and clean. The staff are very helpful and willing to address any issues no matter how small. The staff at breakfast were friendly, fast, and happy to accommodate our requests.
Would recommend this hotel for a stay in Kansas City to all.
