We chose this property for its location, which was fantastic. We were running in the KC Marathon event and wanted to walk to and from the race. Perfect!
As we checked in, the front desk staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.
Beyond that, we had a disappointing experience. First, that bathroom was kind of a disaster. The tub faucet dripped, and there was extreme buildup on the area underneath. The floor of the tub seemed clean but was slightly stained, and the shower water pressure was lacking. Note that there is a small shampoo provided but no conditioner, and you do need to ask for a hairdryer.
The sink basin was cracked, the faucet needed to be replaced, and there were black hairs (eyebrows? lashes?) behind the faucet, so the cleaners missed some things. Yuck.
The most distressing thing was that we were promised a grab-and-go breakfast starting at 6 am, which was perfect since we planned to walk to the race at about that time. At 6:15, there was nothing. No coffee, no granola bars, no sign of life. So we headed to the race with no caffeine or carbs.
There was a small kitchen in the room, but there weren't plates, cups or silverware. I did get some from the front desk, which was fine.
Unfortunately, the accommodations were the worst part of our stay in KC. We love the city, and the race was fantastic. If you're strictly looking for a good location, this will suffice - but if you want convenience and cleanliness, I encourage you to look elsewhere.

I am going to be honest. This was not a pleasant hotel experience at all. At any given place in the hotel there was quite a foul smell. The hallways, the elevator and the smell in our room was very unpleasant. I assume the smell came from the neighboring rooms or the hall. It was uncomfortable because at most times there was trash in the halls. I feel like the staff does what they can to stay on top of it but this is not a place I would return to.
