"The condition of the room is not great - very dated and could do with an overhaul. Cleanliness can be further improved as we noticed that the couch and curtains are dusty. There was no wifi provided with our package - very unfortunate because who charges for that these days! "

"I had a really bad experience with this homestay. I booked a room and received no confirmation or reply at all. After waiting, I decided to message them—only then did the host finally respond and casually told me the room was not available, and asked me to apply for a refund myself. No apology, no help. "Worst homestay ever, modern scam. 2 room have no air conditioner. Everything about to rotten. Had to pay extra money for extra person, without giving extra pillow, blanket etc. No wonder its always available on to book. Toilet was worst. Towel smell like they never wash. Bad experience ever. "

"Property is fantastic, new and clean rooms. Breakfast was very disappointing as it’s not really a hotel breakfast and you’re limited to the quantity as well. If you are looking to walk and explore the George Town area you will be disappointed as it’s a bit far and would need to take a taxi. Overall decent place if your visiting but not very convenient location to the action "

"Had a 3 bedroom suite on the top floor with beautiful see views. Very well set out with kitchen and a spacious lounge. The is a laundry which you can purchase tokens for at reception and a store with most essentials next to reception. The location is right on the beach with a good size infinity pool and gym on the 7th floor. There are drinking and eating options all around as well as a large mall with a supermarket 10 minutes walk away. Fantastic place we couldn't fault it."

"We stayed at the golden sands by shangri-la in penang 5th to 8th of july. We had a beach /pool facing room which i would strongly recommend. Rooms are spacious and clean, buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food, plenty of pool activities and areas of entertainment for kids,I would highly recommend this hotel to any type of visitor "

"Hotel was great and good value for money but building starting to show signs of lack of investment. Breakfast was nice but for such a large hotel would expect more options espically when full on weekend. Nice being outside of city centre but bus out the front gets you into town centre 15 - 20 minutes. Great staff"
