"Our family stayed over for a night at the hotel to visit Daisetsuzan. Hotel is very close to the cable car in small town of Sounkyo. We were there at off-season so it was quiet. Hotel is bit old but its a nice experience to stay in traditional Japanese accommodation. Rooms and tatami mattress were fine and fits in 4 people (albeit bit tight). "This hotel was super affordable, but also super dated. Definitely a no-frills experience. They do not offer luggage storage which was the only service I would have wanted. It’s clean and safe, but definitely feels like it’s stuck in another decade and the hallway smelled. Otherwise I found it to be a good location for the winter festival with easy access to nightlife.
