Good location in the old core of Kalmar. Quiet time of year being winter, but there were good restaurant options nearby, and parking under the hotel. Very good breakfast, and afternoon drinks at the bar.

The room was big and we felt very comfortable there. The hotel is dorectly in the City Centre,so it is easy to find restaurants and possibilities for shopping. The breakfast menu was fantastic. I can recommend this hotel and would book it again for the next stay. Thumbs up

Great value for money

Excellent value for money. The key benefits about the hotel is its location and the free breakfast which is very good. That said, the rooms are VERY small. The lighting in the room is inadequate, there is no closet or shelves for clothes and just 4 electrical outlets in the room very inconveniently places. We had to keep the kettle on the window sill - the only way to use an electrical outlet. The mattress on the bed is soft but the rooms are comfortably warm. Free all day coffee and tea in the lobby. And free sparkling water. Laundry is per piece. Note, that Kalmar has no coin laundry. Staff are super helpful and friendly. The lounge area is very cosy and looks out on the road and is lovely to spend the evening sipping the free coffee 😊

Best option for Ironman Kalmar

I stayed here for Ironman Kalmar and cannot recommend it enough. I changed my travel plans last minute to arrive a day early and stay in a different local hotel. I asked if early check-in would be possible as I had to vacate the first place by 11am, and the receptionist was so friendly and helpful in putting a note on my reservation, and then letting me know the next morning I could check in before 11 because a room was ready. The breakfast was phenomenal. They opened up at 4am on race morning and had everything I thought I needed plus more. (Fruit smoothie, ginger juice shot with chili, pancakes with real maple syrup, so many different breads, meats, cheese, fruit, salads etc. in addition to your typical breakfast.) Finally, checkout the day after the race was delayed 2 hours, which I've never experienced at any other race, but which would've been much appreciated had I not opted to stay an extra day (specifically to avoid having to pack up and be out by 10:30am).
