A true treasure in the hills of Kona. An old style inn tucked away in wooded neighborhoods. Old but well renovated interiors and a wonderful lanai to sit watch the birds at the feeder and drink wonderful coffee. Just a short drive into town and the beaches but in the quiet hills.

This property is not a hotel you have no privacy you don’t have your own restroom you share the living room, the kitchen, the dining room, the restrooms with other people this place it’s very high on mole I’m allergic to Mole they are not reasonable conscience for the people that stay and don’t stay there they don’t respect your health wise Had trouble breathing because of the more conditions that they have it’s a home it’s not a hotel

Hale Maluhia Country Inn is a Hawaii-licensed Inn, and our guests get to enjoy their privacy. Each room has its own bathroom so you never have to share it with anyone outside your room (please refer to the amenities and pictures listed for each room on this booking website) It's really hard for us to comprehend how you couldn't see the bathroom that was in your own room, and never even questioned us about it while you were here. The Inn has a large fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining areas, lanai, and other common areas. Your room has an air conditioner, and there is no presence of mold anywhere, for we maintain our property with high standards of excellence, comfort, and cleanliness. You complained to us about the humidity, which is everywhere in all Hawaiian islands, so we suggested turning on your air conditioner to eliminate it, but you decided to leave without ever turning it on. You never mentioned or even said the word mold once, and suddenly you mentioned it here. As you said this was your first visit ever to Hawaii, we tried to explain to you how different it is to be in the tropics than other areas on the mainland, and how pleasant it is experiencing Hawaii, especially here in Kona. Please help us understand how we don't respect your health, and we are still wondering how you came up with these accusations and lies when you arrived and stayed in your room for not even 15 minutes. We never saw in you any signs of trouble breathing. We are an Inn, and our house is separated from the business, but we are always glad to be the innkeepers that are available for our guests.

This property has absolutely stunning grounds. Full of gorgeous plants and colorful birds. The only complaint I could possibly have is that it’s a bit warm. We had the cheapest room and it did not come with an air conditioner. (So maybe the other rooms do have A/C) It does cool down a bit at night (you’ll have to keep the windows open and the ceiling fan running) but the humidity and the swampiness just can’t be fixed without an A/C. Again though, this property was a great stay, fresh baked goods and fresh fruit in the lobby in the morning. Dave and Miriam are very sweet people and most importantly, we felt very, very safe here.

Wonderful B&B with great hosts! The Japanese teahouse room was lovely, the grounds were beautiful, & there was delicious Kona coffee available every morning, teas, & homemade goodies. If I'm ever in Kona again, would definitely stay there again!
