Very much enjoyed our short stay. Beautifully situated above Kaikoura, quiet, clean and spacious with lovingly equipped kitchen. Walking tracks all around with great views. Only suggestion would be to have a heater in Bathroom as it gets very cold. Saw a great sunrise over the sea.

Amazing place to stay if you go to Kaikoura with a beautiful view of the ocean from the kitchen window. Everything was perfect. Thank you!! We will come back

The cottage was well equipped with everything you needed including towels and linen. Everything was spotless clean. There was sufficient heating and beds had electric blankets. We enjoyed sitting on the verandah with seaviews. Veronika was very friendly and helpful and we were able to purchase some fresh eggs from their own choocks.

The owner is very friendly and helpful and has had ownership of the property for about a year. This business has been running previous to this for many years and could really do with updating. The furnishings are looking old and worn. Given the nightly rate we would expect at a minimum a TV with some form of viewing choice such as Netflix or Neon or at the least TV on demand. There is only freeview tv and a dvd player with a selection of very old dvds available at the office. There is no mention of this on the website but it does state that you get free wifi, isn't that a given these days? The heating is also old and consists of two low wall mounted heaters one of which is on a two hour timer. This means you have to turn it back on every two hours. The other heater was noisy. Kaikoura is cold in the winter so you should be able to have as much heating on as you like. There is no heating in the bathroom and this room was very cold. There are lots of little things that could be done to make the property more appealing such as a good spring clean, remove cobwebs from ceilings and sweep under the doormats that looked like they had never been moved and were full of leaves. Back doormat was green with moss and very wet. The garden also looked neglected and some of the shrubs are now blocking the view. Over all the stay was ok but we would not stay there again and think the prices are too high for the amenities provided.
