Well managed, clean and with good basic facilities. Library in the lobby is a nice, and unusual, thing to have. Would be nice to have a bin for recyclables, not just a waste bin. Overall, though, a very good place to stay.

Good value. Service was good. At reception corrected my mistakes at booking, finding a cheaper alternative to my benefit for the upgrade I needed. Location is in middle of night life district but room was quiet.

Japanese Only Should Be Their Slogan

Check in was relatively smooth. I carried several bags from the car in front of front desk person who didn't assist. Hotel was okay except for one major incident. The front desk employees were nasty and cranky anytime I interacted. Almost like they didn't want to assist me, except for one lady who spoke English well. I think it was Ms.T. The lady working on the buffet was extremely nice. The hotel itself is located in the heart of the drinking area of town. I was on the 7TH floor and could hear drunken partiers and noisy singing late into the night. There was huge step from the room up into the bathroom. It was sorta dangerous. Room was tiny. I have travelled to MANY countries. I encountered a first at this place. I totally get it that Japan doesn't have a lot of foreign visitors to the far out regions. I am a permanent resident here so understand the language well and understand the looks folks give when being racist. I came back to the hotel on the second night of my two night stay and the guy behind the front desk had that, what is a foreigner doing here look! He then opened the covid safety curtain to question my presence there and another person on the front desk told him, he is a guest here. It really disappointed me and I was considering checking out right then and there. Hotels.com handled it extremely well and I have total faith in them. I work in hotels in Japan and know this isn't normal to question a paying guest who returns to his room. Will never go back.

Good Value

The hotel is surrounded by bars and places to get "services". We didn't mind but I don't suggest bringing kids on this side of town lol. The location was pretty good, easy walk to the port to get to the volcano. The hotel staff was super nice and they did a great job keeping our room clean. We didn't get the all you can eat for breakfast because the covid-19 made it dangerous however we got bentos. I'll be honest the bentos wasn't that great and is basically the same thing every time. We were there for 7 days.The really cool thing is all the free soap samples and bath salt, they also had a place where you can choose the type of pillow you want. I don't know if it will be free forever but man it was really nice to choose from 7 different types of pillows. They also had some great deals on gifts you can bring back home.
