My family of 5 rented the cottage and 2 garden facing studios, #3&4 and we all had a great stay.
Comfort in every aspect. Would definitely return. Shopping and eating is within a short walk or drive. Everything needed is provided. Cleanliness is a priority.

The Haystack is a wonderful place to be
Posted 28 Jan 2021 on HomeAwayThe beautiful garden, swimming pool, and walling distance to shops make this already a great location but it geta even better with the air conditioned rooms, backup generator power, and best of all the hospitality of the owner/manager. They were always acomidationg for anything that we needed. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in thw area

Great stay
Posted 6 Jan 2021 on HotelsGreat stay. Apartment was clean and comfortable and had all needed amenities that make you feel "at home". The staff was very attentive as well, and the communication was good. The pool and backyard of the facility is very nice as well!

Owner was professional yet friendly (husband’s 4th visit, my first). Spotless accommodation, thoughtful food gift as we arrived late at night. Gorgeous setting, tranquil garden, quiet location close to dining options. A “hidden gem” indeed❤️❤️

No water day
Posted 1 May 2019 on HotelsI gave them a lower rating because that the water was shut off for a complete day in witch it ruins the fact that could not take a shower nor do any laundry although they did try to help by providing buckets for flushing the toilet I believe that if the water has been on ,it was for the most part close to 5 star rating

We again express our apologies that you experienced an infrequent water outage arising from an unplanned interruption in the neighbourhood municipal water supply. It is always difficult to anticipate when such incidences will occur.
As communicated to you, our onsite borehole water supply provides backup for our housekeeping services and we are able to assist with non-potable water in buckets. Regrettably, our washing machine remained inoperable during this period.
The water supply was restored at midnight on your departure date, so we guess it was too late for you to utilize our laundry facility before leaving. We are however certain that you took a shower before departure. :)
Your honesty is appreciated and we hope you choose to stay with us when next you are in Sandton, Johannesburg. We are 'Home', not a hotel. :)
