It is a very well organized place to stay. Good management and staff members. The bedding is excellent. Transport took us to and from the airport at our convenience.

Good place, but bad reception, and lack of life

Dear Bashar,Our sincere apology for the unfortunate arrival that you had. Our day and night staff change over at 19h00 and you have just missed Elsabe. After 19h00 our night manager can be phoned for check-in and he will be able to assist guest within 2 minutes after being called. Unfortunately you entered through the motor gate when other guests left. We have a message on the gate at reception how to contact the night manager. You missed that by entering through the motor gate.I am really sorry that you had this bad experience and we will do our best that this will not happen again.

Peaceful and practical
Posted 7 Oct 2022 on HotelsAt a reasonable distance from OR Tambo, in a safe and calm neighbourhood, President Lodge offered a refreshing change for 3 nights between 2 international flights.
Breakfast was pleasant with a wide choice. There's a nice conference room (used and appreciated) and a small swimming pool (untested). There was no issue about cleanliness and the room was fine although I found the decoration to be somewhat drab but that's a personal opinion as I love colours. On the other hand, Internet was fast and the air-conditioner worked well during the heatwave. The owner was helpful and so were her employees.

Hi Andre,Was lovely to have you here and please come back. We try to have the room décor rather neutral so as not to offend conservative guests. we have a lot of Corporate clients but I agree that more color can be nice. We try with our colorful art on the walls.

rolling power outages-ask ahead
Posted 9 Jun 2021 on Hotelsstay fri-sun and was picked up by the owners for 300RAND the uber was only 99rand but he was patient and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. the facility I loved. The layout was great. My only complaints were the Power outages. There is a schedule. This needs to be in the description. WARN the guests. I had food in the fridge. our heater shut off. I had business to conduct and I NEEDED wifi. Also, because there was no electricity, they could not offer the full breakfast. but they still had a fair option. Also, after the power restored the internet was still down for an hour or so. Please have a back up data service if you need internet. I wish it was warmer. I wanted to swim. I wish I had more time for the tub. The water pressure was GrEaT. the pillows were also really nice. If the electricity/wifi didn't cut out this would have been a 9.9 review.

Thank you for the positive points in your review.
With regards to the negative points: In South Africa we currently have Load Shedding due to the electricity provider, Escom, that is unable to supply constant electricity and we are switched off randomly. They do have a schedule for power outages but do not stick to the advertised times. They are the only electricity providers and are regulated by the State. It is impossible to warn guests as to when the power will be cut.
The internet was due to a problem on the provider, Vodacom's side. They did apologize for the inconvenience and fixed the system within an hour. They are also the only providers of fibre internet in this area.
This is Africa and systems does not run as efficiently as you are used to in First World Countries.
We do our best to make up for the inconvenience by providing excellent services in the areas controlled by us.

I really enjoyed my stay there the only thing I would complain about is I would like to use a telephone while I'm there.. Also I felt a little rushed when it was time to check out because the woman wanted to clean my Room.

We do need guests to check out at 10h00 ( check out time in most hotels the world over) in order to get the room ready for new arrivals.
We are really sorry that you felt rushed on check out but it is important for us to have a room ready for new guests.
