I would highly recommend against staying at this hotel. I was double charged for the room upon check in and had to provide credit card details three times to process my refund. One of those times someone from reception came to the room to ask for my card information and wrote it down. I will be keeping an eye out for suspicious charges. We paid extra for late checkout and the cleaning staff tried entering our room four times as we slept. We finally had to prop our suitcase under the door handle. The rooms were dated and did not feel clean. Room service took almost an hour and our food was ice cold upon arrival. We finally broke down and ordered McDonalds from Uber Eats to the hotel which was a significant improvement… which is not saying much. There was screaming outside our room at 2:00 am and barely slept all night. Staff were not very friendly. Overall, we did not feel safe and would never stay there again

One major problem is airport shuttle runs once an hour comparing to at least twice an hour of other hotels

Really like the gardens walking about the property made you feel like you were not in the middle of the city next to the airport done very nicely.
On July 10th, I forgot my cell with all my credit cards & identification on the dining room table. Didn’t realize it until I was almost ready to leave for my next flight. Couldn’t find it in my room so race back to the restaurant and sure enough it was turned in. By Lesedi, I was blown away as you hear all kinds of stories about theft in South Africa. I got the lady to call him so I could personally thank him. He is truly a good trustworthy staff member to have around. I even told the front desk the same. He should get employee of the month.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg for a week, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home.
The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep every night. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping the room tidy and replenished with fresh towels and toiletries daily.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. It was fantastic, with a wide variety of options to choose from. Whether you prefer a hearty English breakfast or something lighter like fruits and pastries, there was something for everyone. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented.
The hotel's facilities were equally impressive. The dining options were excellent, with a range of delicious dishes to suit all tastes. The ambiance in the dining area was pleasant, making each meal a delightful experience.
While my overall experience was highly positive, one small area for improvement would be the addition of bins outside for smokers. This would help keep the outdoor areas clean and tidy, enhancing the overall guest experience.
In summary, the Birchwood Hotel offers great value for money. The combination of excellent service

My favorite place to stay
Posted 20 Jul 2024 on HotelsThe Birchwood is a huge congress & holiday premise with dozens of small villas. Close to the airport and some major shopping malls. Several bars and restaurants in the property. All well mantained and in good shape.

Great stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only slight lowering of rating was no playground which was advertised in the Expedia hotel details and the reason we picked that hotel over others in a similar range.
