The staff went above and beyond for us during our stay! The hotel is incredibly historic and charming. I highly recommend adding the breakfast to your stay. Jena is an absolute gem of a city and we would love to stay here again!

Positives: Clean room, good breakfast, nice location downtown. I like the black bear in the lobby. Negatives: The wifi was so weak that it would not stay connected to either my phone or my computer. When I said something to the desk clerk, she offered a lame excuse - she said that some laptops just don't connect very well, but phones do connect well. That was wrong, neither device would connect. When I checked out, I mentioned it to a different clerk, who apologized. The water in the shower kept cycling between too cold and too hot.

Our room smelled: we kept the windows open for the first two days and nights. Another guest on the same floor said the same thing.Maybe it had to do with the renovation of this third/attic floor?
