Property is under construction due to need and new owners. There is nothing offered other than coffee and water. No internet on the third floor due to plaster walls. Owners are working on this issue. The place is very old. Must use dead bolt or the door will open. It is clean and quiet. Hoping to go back when renovations are done.

Sorry it wasn't in time for you visit. Yes, those old door connections will be shored up during the quiet season as we address other areas in need of renovation. The owner didnt mention that there are children living on property who would be playing outside late at night. There was nobody at the desk to check in, there was yelling throughout the house (yes this is very much someone’s house, it doesn’t feel like an inn at all). We stayed for less 30 minutes after seeing the state of the place. The floors in our room hadn’t even been cleaned. Not to mention the very noticeable dirt covering every other surface. It looks like the new owners haven’t taken any time to clean at all. The AC in the room also didn’t work and was covered in black mold. So even if it DID work, nobody should be breathing in mold. The rooms are tiny as well, maybe a foot and a half to walk around the bed and maybe 3 feet from the bed to the wall. That wouldn’t have been as much of an issue if the place wasn’t so dirty and the children weren’t outside screaming. We came for a quiet night stay after a wedding (without children as we deal with them all day) and we ended up leaving after 30 min and driving over an hour back home because we felt that gross and extremely unsafe sleeping in this “Inn.” The owners need clean the place and take NEW!!! PHOTOS of the place to accurately reflect what guests are getting by booking with them. If you’re traveling and don’t mind staying in a place that makes you feel like you might be woken up by scary banging on the door or by someone standing at the foot of your bed in the middle of the night, then this is the Inn for you.

This review is about 10% accurate and the rest lies somewhere between extreme exaggeration and fantasy. Instead of bringing their concerns to us, these guests tried to sneak out without so much as a word or opportunity to address any issues. When I ran into them headed out the front door (with a facial mask on, no less) and asked why they were leaving, they said that the place was “old” and that the kids were loud. They were surprised to hear that there would be a fee for a day-of cancellation and it seems that this review is retaliation for that.Yes, we do have kids and they were enjoying the afternoon sunshine (not late at night) as all kids do. Yes, that room is smaller than the others, and it’s the least expensive to rent for that reason. New photos would not help, as the size of the room has not changed in a hundred years. The floor was clean, there was no dust in the room, and no black mold on the fully operational AC unit. The comment about feeling unsafe with the possibility of someone standing at the foot of the bed is simply ridiculous. We love our quaint, old Inn and take great pride in providing guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Property needs the following: landscape upkeep; maintenance to front door (sticks); and plumbing (old toilets - poor water pressure); amenities (bad coffee, no breakfast or continental offerings).
Great location and could be restored to its original cottage quaintness with some TLC. But needs major work.

Comfy king bed
Posted 3 Aug 2024 on HotelsThe place is over coming new ownership so it has work being done but the new owners seem nice and our room was nice a clean and the bed was super comfy. I would love to see it in a year to see all the renovations done.

Horrible Service - I was not able to check in between 2 and 9 pm and tried multiple times to contact the inn to make arrangements since I already paid for the room. They did not answer their phones nor return my messages. I ended up having to sleep on someone's couch and lost my $200!!!

Hi Jaclyn. It was indeed an unfortunate situation. We assumed ownership just a handful of days prior, were unable to access voicemail, and didn't realize that the phone was not ringing to the desk. I'm sorry for your frustration. These issues have since been remedied. I trust that you received the gift certificate to make up for your troubles and the inability for us to reimburse for reservations made through an online travel agency. Take care!

the inn has been sold and the new owners have not taken possession
the restaurant and bar have been closed for years
there was NO ONE working the premises
keys were left at the desk
other guests bewildered as were we
