"We were a family with young children and stayed at Villa B, which was a standalone 3-floor loft-style apartment. "Great property on the hilly (mountain-y) slope with plenty of room (by Japanese standards) for our family of 4 adults, a kid and a baby. There was ample parking lots for our rental car and it was a short drive to amenities, and sights like Lake Ashi and the Hakone ropeway. Loved the fact that the 7-11 was a short walk up the hill, a restaurant next door, and a brewery on the other side of the house. "

"Staff is very welcoming; we got a snack upon check-in. We went with the dinner option by the riverside as it was hyped up by youtubers, but we found that the price is not worth the price tag. We paid around $260 for 2 people for dinner. The food could be a lot better to justify the price tag. The room is a bit old. Other than those two points, the environment is nice and room is very clean and comfortable."

"Stayed here for two nights on 30 Nov and 1 Dec. The hotel has def seen some years but everything was clean and tidy. Rooms were spacious and still had a standing shower, though you would likely not be using it much. Was lucky enough to be given a room at level 4 which is also where the 7 private baths were located at. Each private bath had a different theme (eg some were made of stone, some of wood etc), and it never felt too busy that you had to wait for long to use one. Breakfast and dinner had plenty of options. All in all, happy with the facilities and the stay. Would recommend."

"Ochiairo exceeded our expectations! The facility, room, and food were all incredible. We definitely got a true Japanese experience and felt like we had traveled back in time.
