Staff was quite unpolite; seemed bored and annoyed. I was in Turkey 2 weeks, and started from Nevsehir / Cappadokia, and surely this Shantihome in Izmir was the worst of all my accommodations in Göreme, Konya, Isparta, Pamukkale and Selcuk. The breakfast was offered yet 9.30. The chef was really good and amazing, but the meals were at the end / finished about 10 o'clock. The shared kitchen was dirty...

The bed room and the bathroom isn’t clean enough And the neighbours (pubs or cafes) were playing music so loud until late so I couldn’t sleep comfortably. Better to make the walls thicker But Breakfast is for free and amazing

The variety and quality of the food were simply outstanding. Oze's culinary skills aside, the warmth and friendliness displayed by the entire staff, especially Oze, added an extra layer of comfort to my time at Shanti Hostel. Oze went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. The genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable. The hostel itself boasts a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers. I highly recommend Shantihome. Wonderful, friendly, helpful dedicated people, excellent atmosphere, and the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, or close to it. And the breakfast is included in the price of accommodation. The only down-side is the noise from the street, because it's in the heart of an night-life district. However, for that problem I found ear-plugs to be a satisfactory solution.

The staff at this hostel were frendly and helpful. It is well geared to meet the needs of travellers. Although the building is run down, the place was clean. The shower was hot, and towels were provided. There was a washing mschine available for 10 lira, and space on the roof to dry clothes. Drinking water was free, and there was a kitchen for use. Breakfast was provided free, although a small donation was encouraged. There was no airconditioning, and the rooms could be hot. The surrounding area is full of Bars and restaurants that operate into the early hours, so if heat and noise bother you, this is not the place for you. Otherwise the location was good. Close to cafes, shops and the waterfront. About 400m from the Metro.
