Amazing stay, outstanding service. Great place for an authentic/traditional Japanese ryokan experience. Feels like going back in time - a welcome retreat after our time in Tokyo.
The staff was incredible - they were genuinely friendly and accommodated our requests without hesitation, even when it meant going well out of their way to do so. The onsen experience was fantastic. Private, peaceful and unique.
Everything about this place is absolutely incredible and I'd recommend it all in a heartbeat. The single greatest highlight was relaxing at night in one of the onsens highest up on the hill and looking out at the full moon rising over the ocean while listening to the forest rustle in the background. That's the kind of thing I live for.
This is a wonderful place to stay. The location at the end of a little track is exciting and then the rooms are beautiful.
There are little private onsen dotted around the grounds so it is worth arriving early to try out a few in your yukata. There is an incredible dinner at 6pm- a varied selection of sashimi, miso soup and many other delicacies- all of it is beautifully presented.breakfast was a similar feast.
The hotel Manager Miwako was exceedingly helpful. She and her staff made us feel very welcome
