Would recommend to a friend

Posted 2 Nov 2015
Pros: Location, views, excellent staff
Cons: The bathroom in the deluxe room. Smell, hole in the wall next to the toilet, etc.
Location: 5 minutes to the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, a few minutes to the Arasta Bazaar.
I had a fine stay at the Mansion by Cheers. We were upgraded the first night to the best room, and then moved to the room we actually booked subsequently. The first room was amazing, Emre ordered takeout food for us which was great . Everyone was very friendly. The second room was clean and accomodating, but the bathroom had a strange smell (okay, bad smell) to it, which I had read about days before my booking and weeks after I had actually already booked it. The difference in booking is that the room I booked was the second most expensive room, and the people in the room across the hall had a similar experience with their bathroom. Either way, the hotel has nice views and is conveniently located. Also, the breakfast is just what one needs before setting out on a day of sightseeing.

Good location. Good host.

Posted 10 Oct 2015
Pros: The location. The owners involvement with guests.
Cons: A tea maker in the room. Better quality breakfast to at least offer cereals if not eggs. Very little in the menu to start the day
Location: in the Centre of the old city walk to all the key sights like the blue mosque, the topkapi palace the museum the grand bazar tram station
Positives Great staff. Taxi driver tried ripping us off by claiming 105 for a 20 lira ride.. Prompt Staff intervention ensured that we paid right! Delighted us with an upgrade to Superior room with a great view of the Blue mosque on one side and Sea at the other! Hotel in walking distance of key monuments, markets & Transport hub. Room big and airy. Negatives Room on 5th Floor, No lift. Access through narrow wooden stair case. No tea maker in room and very small breakfast spread.

A really Good Price for a great location!

Posted 10 Oct 2015
A really good price for a great location and service! located in the touristical district of sultanahmet (where you can find shops, cafes, restaurants) between Istanbul's main touristical attractions (3 blocks) such as the blue mosque and ayasofia and the coast (2 blocks). The room was in good condition and we could sleep well. The stuff is really nice and kind and they really really helped us with the trip. You can also arrange the bosforous tour at the hostel. I traveled with my parents and we had a good stay! The metro is near, like four blocks!

Terrible hotel with good location

Posted 28 Sep 2015
Pros: Nothing but its location.
Cons: Providing (Shampoo, towels, closet, TV, Minibar). Removing the horrible bathroom smell. Improving breakfast.Room price.Removing false photos on expedi
Location: It's very close to the attractions in Sultanahmet.
We were three guests who booked two rooms. We reached the hotel with difficulty as nobody in the area recognized it.We where shocked to discover that the hotel in reality does not look like the photos advertised on Expedia. The rooms are smaller than advertised, they lack the basic amenities. No closet for clothes. We selected this "18th century newly renovated mansion" based on two excellent reviews to feel the history, however a third terrible review was posted after booking, by that time we could not cancel our booking because it was non refundable. We complained about the lack of towels and the terrible smell in the upper room which has no AC (The other room did not have the smell), but the CEO did not accept the complains, he seemed to be very sensitive to any criticism or complains. We spent the night smelling the strong sewer smell and looking for a new hotel to move. We succeeded to book two rooms. In the morning we went for breakfast, which was well bellow average (cheese, olives, tomatoes) and paid for the omelet we ate. The hotel has only one lady for cleaning and preparing breakfast, in addition to the CEO the owner. So we payed for the hotels twice but were happy to leave the mansion by cheers. We believe that this hotel is highly priced compared to the value the customer gets and we wonder how Expedia assesses the hotels listed with them. After leaving the hotel, we started to enjoy the beauty of Istanbul. Finally we do not recommend this place for anyone.

Excellent location, friendly staff

Posted 20 Sep 2015
Pros: The staff is a 10/10, the location is very convenient, and the room is relatively cheap.
Cons: The room I got was a basic double room. It was clean and tidy, but I could have used a closet to hang my coat or blouse. Otherwise no complaints.
Location: It is in the Sultanahmet area; all the historic important buildings are near. It is also not very far from the more hip areas of Istanbul.
The mansion is located in the oldest part of Istanbul, namely Sultanahmet. All the historic highlights of Istanbul are within walking distance of the mansion, the farthest of them being a 30 minute walk. The mansion and its rooms are situated on a street with low traffic density, so it is pleasantly quiet, too. The owner and staff are very friendly, communicative and are able to help you out regarding almost anything, from arranging a shuttle service to/from the airport to helping you arrange a whole day-trip.

Worst experience- will never stay again!

Posted 12 Sep 2015
Hotel photos are lies. Room looks like a prison cell - cracked floors, horrible bed, dirty looking curtains, no aircon but just a fan, and worst of all, really horrible staffs. I loved everything about the city except the hotel.

lovely hotel with character

Posted 25 Jul 2015
Courteous staff with excellent hospitality. 2 minutes walk from Sultan Ahmet and 5 min walk from Ayah Sophia. The building is 200 years old with new renovation that maintained the old character and have it unique style. Some rooms have nice view of the Marmary sea. One thing is that it has no elevator which might make him not suitable for some visitors I loved it. The fourth floor room has nice view of the Marmary. It has nice balcony where you could enjoy their excellent Apple tea
