A pleasant stay
Posted 31 May 2018 on HotelsOverall, everything is okay. However, the breakfast could be improved, such as providing bread and jams for those who don't prefer Japanese style food.

I need to go back, it was so wonderful
Posted 18 Apr 2018 on HotelsBeyond fantastic! I did not spend a lot, but had to rent a car (which was better anyway.) The staff was amazing, even with communication challenges, were the nicest people I've ever met. Helped me constantly, and gave me great tips. The location in front of the beach was great. Breakfast was Japanese style, very adequate. Facilities are gorgeous.

A little weather worn
Posted 13 Apr 2018 on HotelsThe hotel seems to have gone through weathering but it is a great location, only a few minutes to the beach.

Pros: Almost everything!
Cons: Pillows were too flat and there was only one pillow per bed. We also didn't get any wifi signal in our room.
Location: Great location and convenience to all the best beaches on the island, which are mostly on the northern side of the island.
Staff was absolutely great. Breakfast was included which was a plus, and it was good too - there was a good balance of Japanese and western food. The hotel is in a serene area outside of town which is wonderful if you're trying to get away and unplug from the craziness of your everyday hustle and bustle. I wasn't sure if it was going to be too far outside of town, but i wanted to spend a lot of time at the beach and La Teada provided a very convenient location to Kabira Bay, Yonehara, etc. The wifi is free and works great in the lobby. It probably works well in most of the rooms too although my room didn't get any signal; I had to step into the hallway to pick up any wifi. However, I didn't come to Ishigaki to play on my phone or computer so it didn't make that big an impact. There was also only one pillow per bed, and the pillows were flat. This is completely a personal preference but I like to have some substance in my pillows as I have a neck problem and I like having multiple pillows. The room itself was amazing. I reserved the junior suite which I was really pleased with. The room itself was huge and spacious, there was a huge balcony, and the bathroom (which was also huge) included both a separate standalone shower and tub...with a view of the ocean from the tub. I was so happy I opted to get the larger junior suite
Overall, I highly recommend La Teada!

Killer breakfast; need to ask for recommendations
Posted 15 Jan 2016 on Hotelswe splurged a little at la teada which was a nice change after being at a couple more independent places. The staff spoke basic English which was fine but didn't necessarily offer information up. Not sure if it was a language barrier? For example, the location was pretty remote and we missed the bus from Kabira one night so we walked back which took about 20-30 minutes which was fine. The woman at the front desk had told us previously that the bus stop was 30 min walking distance but I guess she didn't realize we were guests and never offered up that the hotel would shuttle as back And forth to the closest stop. She also seemed surprised that we walked it in the dark (totally safe and fine with a flashlight). Would have appreciated recommendations for things to do.
The breakfast was totally killer and well worth spending time to enjoy it properly. We got at least three side dishes plus a HUGE main dish, then drinks, toast,,soup, rice etc that was self serve. Service was awesome. Would recommend going elsewhere for dinner.

Very beautiful setting. Only things I would have liked changed were the size of the room (too small) and better quality coffee service in the room.
