Very welcoming & friendly staff, clean room & comfortable bed, breakfast was excellent with a choice of menu.
My only concern was our window would
Not stay open & we were very hot during the night although a fan was in the room could not sleep with it on,
In the morning very little hot water pressure, this could be the someone else had the hot water running at the same time, these were very small negatives but would definitely stay here again

Lovely old inn in a lovely location. Beamed ceilings downstairs and in the bedroom. Food first class staff friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay again

A very lovely find
Posted 23 Jun 2023 on HotelsThe staff at The Peacock Inn were extremely helpful in allowing me to check in early and ordering a taxi for me prior to my arrival so I could get to a local event on time. The room was lovely and comfortable, the shower was really nice and I had a tasty breakfast of poached eggs on sourdough toast. They also brought me a croissant as a little gesture whilst I was waiting on my ordered food. All the staff I came across were very friendly. I didn't use the pub outside of breakfast however it looked really nice so next time I am in the area, I plan to pop in for some dinner or drinks.

We were made very welcome by Jack, the manager, who was very helpful and charming.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was good but we felt there wasn't a great choice and nothing for customers who preferred more traditional dishes. However the service was excellent and we were well looked after.
The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable with the best pillows I've ever slept on! So a good nights sleep was had but unfortunately when I went to have a shower in the morning the cold water tap didn't work so had to forgo the shower. When we checked out I reported it to the receptionist and she was very apologetic and logged it to be fixed.
On the whole we had a very pleasant stay and would return if in that area again.
